  • Wow. It's that price without it being even the Fly More Combo. Even the Unit without the fancy controller is $1,119.00.

I'd say its a pretty big upgrade specs-wise against the Mini 2 (mainly to do with the camera). IMHO a good starting point for professional work, while the Mini 2 is still very capable for recreational flying.

    • Flymore pack is "extra" on top of this. $259 for two extra "normal" batteries that makes it weigh under 250g. Otherwise it is $359 for two extra "long range" batteries will take it over 250g. These flymore packs will have battery charger included along with a carry bag etc.

    The price is very satisfying

Would rather pay 51c more for it to be 1234.56

  • Feeling pretty burned by DJI since they bricked my Mini 2 by stuffing up the Fly app. I can't connect to the camera in any useful way, making the drone pretty much useless. It's been months.

    • Wow is that a widespread issue?

    • How did they manage to do that?

    • What version of the app are you running? Try updating to v1.5.8 or above (1.5.10 is the current build), or try installing the DJI Go 4 app as an alternative.

What phone are you trying to run it on?

    • I'm pretty sure you just aren't using the latest DJI Fly app… nobody else has that issue.

  • Just ordered it, seem this is the best price right now in stock.

But got DJI Official Store (by Mobileciti) as a seller in the invoice. So it's not DJI Officially store, feel a bit cheated here.

will there be discounts on DJI mini 2 now that 3 is out ? or is anyone selling their mini 2

    • IMO they are different products and not necessarily a direct upgrade.

Though I am tempted to sell my mini 2 to get this one just from the remote alone. Being an android user we get shafted with the DJI app and it's been painful with each software update, however the smart controller is $1.5k alone which doesn't make sense for the mini 2.

Functionality wise, although not ideal, since December the API was released so you have Litchi which can provide those features.

      • The controller doesnt seem to have the 'pro' moniker on it. Doesnt look like it has those 2 antenna stalks, so maybe a lower range spec version?

        • Yep, the controller is less functional, as it apparently doesn't have the same open android os as the RC Pro, so you can't just install whatever apps you want, you're just using the drone controller apps. I assume that means no robust direct-from-controller editing and uploading to social media

    • The Mini 3 is more like "pro" than the budget range of the Mini 2. There's a good chance they will release a cut down version of just the Mini 3 (instead of the Mini 3 Pro) and will be the true replacement for the Mini 2 in that respect. This Mini 3 is more like taking as much of the Air 2's capabilities and cramming it into the Mini body.

  • One thing I do like about having the phone connected to RC is that whatever footage I make, gets instantly saved to the phone (as cache). Not sure how the RC will work in this case but my guess is that it will save the footage only locally in the drone and I will have to manually transfer to my phone.

    • The controller seems to have a microsd card slot on it. Might save it there, and then you can transfer it from there without wasting the drone battery. Possibly.

      • I think you can do both, the O3 connection only allows for 1080p60 transmission to the controller, but the camera itself can do 1080p120 and 4K60, which I imagine would require being saved directly to the microsd

Vertical shooting, what a joke. Movies were made to be recorded in wide-screen, not vertical for social media junk like insta and tik tok.

    • +5

      Okay

    • Except it's not all about making videos - but also still photography.

What, you don't ever use "Portrait" shots in your stills?

    • OK

    • More disappointing is that all of the preset modes eg boomerang etc don't allow vertical shooting, according to reviews.

  • Really missed a trick by not making the cents 56c!

  • Amazing how it goes from 10+ available to "0 available / 9 sold". You'd think the DJI Official Store would have more!

  • Stock is back!

Yep - and nearly $30 cheaper too with code PLSMAYY7.

  • Back in stock! $1,208.07 with code PLSMAYY7 for eBay Plus

  • I am listing my 2hr flight time old DJI Air 2 for this kit, I'm not much into photography just wanted one to play with. I couldn't find much direct comparisson between the two kits but i really like the smaller size and not bothering with attaching screens.

Basically that's the only reason I have for thinking of changing to this, am I making a bad choice?

  • even better with SNSMAY for $1,119/1086.4 (with gift card)
