      Might be location dependent. Sorry!

    • 33.5 kg

The delivery charges maybe for certain areas. Don’t know why u got negged. Have + to offset.

    • +1

Same here, definitely location dependant. $281 to Cairns. Shame there's no option for click and collect from store.

Got this tent and recommend it. East setup and pack away. 3 Large rooms with light switch. Bulky in size is it's only downside.

    • +2

Agreed, also have this tent and it’s been great for us. Good size for a family and can be set up quite quickly. Recommend if you are looking to dabble in some camping.

    • Is this truly darkroom design?

      • +1

        Yes, really dark!
The built-in lighting works well too.
For this price its good deal.

I have been using this tent on a number of camping trips of various lenghts. The top corner joints of the thinner yellow poles feeding into the vertical poles are only held by a small screw. This is an issue, because the yellow poles slip out of the main poles making it difficult to set up (good news is that you can still set it up, even with the small screws broken). In quite windy conditions, the yellow poles fail first, because they are just too thin. The poles bend in very windy conditions, break and poke through the tent fly. I fixed the fly with a tent repair kit and needed to replace the pole. The tent pegs are also not great, just too short and come out easily from sandy grounds. Better get proper pegs. Other then that the tent is really big, versatile in its use and quite waterproof. Nice shaded area in the front. Very heavy though! Add ground tarp, extra poles and pegs to the tent bag and you can't carry it by yourself anymore. Very heavy when lifting it into the car.

      • very heavy?

but the listing says it's only 30000 grams !!!

      • Thanks for sharing, the wife was keen to get this but I wanted to hold for whilst I read some reviews. Very helpful, thanks!

how is this a bargain? lol

    • +6

This tent is usually priced at $799. Has been priced that way for at least a couple of years. I had been following its price since 2019. Finally bought one in 2021 for $680 during afterpay deals.
This is a bargain. Also a great tent.

It’s a lot cheaper than buying a house in Sydney

That's what ScoMo said "Buy a Tent"

….wait a min, did he say Tent or House?? Anyway, the guy is a genius. #coalisamazing

@DAT: Can't believe that clown is our PM by luck. Hope liberal will be out… Not saying labour is any better. Just a change is desperately needed.

  • Stay clear of tent world … customer service is next to nothing. .

i have only had good experiences with them
i have spent a few thousand bucks on stuff from them with no issue (including this tent deal but in a 4 man version)
any question i have emailed they have answered, when going into the shop they are friendly and helpful
i havnt had to return anything yet tho

what problems did you have with them?

      • +1

Took way way too long to deliver an item, asked to cancel it which they didn't, eventually I received item but was only after I had purchased it already from other seller.. when asked them to take it back (unopened item), they disputed, finally agreed to take it back to be returned to them at my cost…after few more attempts they agreed to pay return postage…and refunded only after chasing again (though retuned item was sitting with them)…tent world….never again ..

Hi Dave, how long did it take to deliver. Was it the delivery company fault or did tent world not have the stock?

          • +1

@Vash1984: Top of my head 40-50 days …they said it was dispatched.. it's about their approach, about ignoring emails unless you follow up.worst thing though they were aware of delayed delivery, they try to fork out return postage from me saying it was my change of mind..well hell no..I purchased same item from someone else at same price ..it was not change of mind but I can't cancel my camping trip just because tent from tenetworld didnt arrive on time…

            • @DaveD: Thanks Dave good to know.

            • +1

@DaveD: Thanks Dave for raising the flag.

Covid is a great excuse for many to deliver late up to 2 months. We got a mattress delivered in the last Groupon deal after two months and the situation was very similar except that we decided to keep both mattresses, instead of pursuing through PayPal dispute resolution system.

  • For Suncorp benefit holders, don't forget the further 3% off gift cards. Marks it down to ~$630

  • Can’t decide between this and the Oztrail Lumos.

    • +3

      Coleman anyday

    • Isn't oztrail a cheaper brand that is of poorer quality?

This is one way to fix housing affordability

I put a couple of these in my shopping cart but it made me very nervous. I worked out I was just two tents.

    • +1

      Thanks dad 😂
Was going to ask if you're currently okay, but realised your story was past tents.

      • if you wanted to give me a gift, I would accept present tents

  • +1

The Instant Up range is great. We have a 4 person one and always get lots of comments. You can throw it up in minutes. The poles stay connected inside the tent structure. The downside is if it did break it would be a bitch, but for overnight odd weekend camping it is great.

  • I don't know why this or any other tent manufacturers overstate number of people they can practically accommodate. I see 10 persons, I immediately halve it and think 5 is the absolute maximum this will accommodate.

I have a 3 person tent from Oztrail and no way in hell can it accommodate 3 persons. My wife and I were barely comfortable in it.

    • +1

Yep that's the rule of thumb.

    • +2

They mean ten small people lined up sardine style and without gear in the tent

      • "without gear"

        do you mean eunuchs ?

  • +1

Oh my god. The tent just arrived and the box is enormous. Going to have to buy a 4wd just to take it anywhere

    • +1

maybe it's a ten man tent because that's how many people are needed to carry it !!

    • yeah quite huge. anyone want to buy off me ? :D
