So, to counter deals on a certain book aimed at teenagers with almost the exact same concept, themes and story, I present a fairly good price for a novel I hold close to my heart.

Battle Royale by Koushun Takami

RRP is listed at $29.99 and the sale price is at $14.97.

So if you want a fantastic novel about children gathered up in an experience that questions their morality whilst trying to survive an insane game created by sadistic a Government, read The Long Walk.

Oh, but if you want young friends killing each other in increasingly gruesome ways with the same amount of detailed description as American Psycho while retaining the theme of The Long Walk, I highly recommend Battle Royale.

What can I say? I love me some good horror.

    Wow, I've never seen such vitriol directed toward Fishpond before. I made one order with them two years ago, and there were some delays & damages, and I heard that some other people ordered the same item as I did (a game, AU stock), but instead received an alternate item (the same game, but US stock), but after less than a month, I did have everything I ordered. I guess I thought the service was nothing great, just OK, but searching around the Internet reveals that I am in the minority.

      They have a pretty bad record of overselling stuff and then giving refunds without notice. With man good online book / game places I can't think of any reason to support them really

        And that is why when I found out the price of this book was on special at Fishpond I thought to share the deal. Try not to confuse this with just some generic post that has the retail price listed only. I mean, I am asking whether it is okay to list the book depository link instead of fishpond since it is cheaper and with better service.

          There's no point doing that if it was normal price all along. If we all started posting links of our favourite movie/book on the cheapest site, then ozbargain would be in chaos. If BD recently reduced their price from their normal price and this is lower than cheapest you can find on lets say http://booko.com.au/products/9780575080492, then only should you post the deal.

          A little bit of research can go along way in helping others get a better deal.

    Wish someone had of warned me about fishpond before i ordered a board game from them a week and a half ago.
    Just received this email from them saying:

    but like everyone thats complained in the past
    i thought i'd share my story to

    a few weeks ago, someone posted on this site for smash bros brawl, for 16 bucks (i think, around that price) which i bought
    then a few weeks later i saw deus ex COLLECTORS EDITION for 36 bucks

    ok first of all smash bros brawl never came (yeah too good to be true), i got the same email as lordezekiel, but instead of saying it'll come at a later date, it just said order cancel we refund your money, so i got my refund, no grudges there

    then my deus ex came in the mail like a month later
    but guess what, they sent me the wrong game, as i said i bought the COLLECTORS EDITION but instead they sent me the LIMITED EDITION, whats the difference ?, ok i tell you, the limited edition comes with the game and a few extra levels, the COLLECTORS EDITION which is the one i bought, comes with the game, extra levels, figurine (which i thought was cool) artbook and some making dvds, so for 36 bucks i thought it was a great deal

    so i double checked my order make sure i didn't buy the wrong item or what not, but no, i bought the right item, collectors edition etc, so i emailed them telling them they sent me the wrong item, instead of saying sorry we screwed your order heres a refund or we'll send the right game right away, they sent me an email telling me to return the item and they will refund me 10 days after they receive the item back, like i was planning to steal the game which i paid for, and i doubt this refund is gonna include my shipping back to them, waste of time, waste of money, and for a game like deus ex, the game itself is not even worth 20 bucks these days

    so you've been warned, do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere

        yeah mate, thanx for the taking my side, soz couldn't reply sooner, had abit of work to do, and i didn't think anyone was gonna see this post coz its a few days old

        i mainly bought this game for the figurine, i already have this game on my xbox (standard), which is why i'm buying this collectors edition one for my ps3, and nope i'm not sending it back, they said they'll refund my money 10 days after they get their item back so they can process the claims forms or whatever, whether its true or not, i think they should take the first step to make amends and fix the issue asap, i mean they screwed up not me, they holding my money and if i send this game back got nothing of theirs, and if they see this post i doubt they wanna refund my money haha
        waste my time and petrol driving to post office, those scum bags should reimburse me for time, money, patience and petrol, haha

        if they think i'm sending the game back before i get my refund they are dreaming !
        i'm giving them 10 days, to give my money back, before i sell this on ebay for 10 - 15 bucks brand new and sealed, that way i lose 15 - 20 bucks, big deal, i'm not gonna lose any sleep over it, but i'll be posting my original post all over whirlpool, this forum, any other forums that fishpond post their ads and sales on, for 20 bucks, i'd say thats pretty sweet revenge

        and if anyone in any forum thinks i'm being slack, mean, unreasonable etc, well just look around, i'm not the only one thats peed off at them, everyone has a damn good reason

        i've wasted my last buck going to the post office to send $hit back to them
        bought 2 things from them, received neither, no go back zone for me
        if you value your time and money, go shop elsewhere
