EOFY 2022 (End of Financial Year Is Almost upon Us) Buy Now or Wait?

Hi OzB*, I thought I ask the community that I have been visiting ritually every day for deals.

Finally settled on a property at the peak of a possible housing market crash (great!) when it was originally meant to be Jan 2022 and fixed loans being <2%

Anyways, I was looking at furnishing the place with things I can enjoy for many years to come.

Given it is so close to EOFY, is it worth it to just wait till mid next month to grab deals? Are EOFY deals any good?

Things looking to buy:

  • 75-85" TV (already have a LG CX 55") but it will feel too small in the new place compared to my current rental (I saw the 77" Oled deal and 75" frame TV but didn't settle yet… and thinking to get a non-oled and save…plus, really bright room)

  • Smart "eco" system? Blinds/curtains etc. with Google or Alexa

  • Lenovo album TV thing (I know people were dissing it but with my photos mostly of Google Photos, it would be cool to see them without looking for them)

  • Smart Bed…is that a thing?

  • Slated Accountic wall panels (don't see them in AU being pre-done for you)

  • Washing Machine (I know we love to see German Bosch Deals for dishwasher but the apartment already came with F&P)

  • Microwave but none of the deals have trim options to have a flush look

  • Rugs, tv unit, sofa, lamp, wall art, dolby atmos speaker for TV and so on…

    I'm in the same position as you. Just popping in to leech off your post haha

    I'm waiting for EOFY but I can also wait til Black Friday, not sure which has the better deals in general

    Search for the product you really want and buy them whenever they on sale. EoFY usually got the ending of line items, but if you happy with that, that's a bonus.

      Thanks but doesn't businesses also discounts it for bringing cost forward for taxation reasons and not EOL?

        Yes. All Sales Depts have monthly/quarterly/annual targets and if they aren't meeting them they will discount to move stock to reach those targets.

    Do they calculate GST owing and complete your BAS?

    Smart Bed

    I'm guessing if the smart bed and accountic panels are linked it will probably tell you when to pull out to avoid a costly mistake.

      Or maybe saves you having to read because it is all printed onto the headboard, you absorb it while you sleep.
