Sold an avo seed, made salsa.

  • Sold my 7yo Toyota to a dealer via Carsales 6 months ago for $16K. The car was listed for about a month plus and was sold for ~$21K I think. They listed $24K initially.

    • sold for ~$21K

That was the advertised price when the dealer closed the carsales listing. It may have sold for less than that.

    • what model? Yaris?

    Too many variables.

How long is a piece of string?

    • +1

      Single length or a loop?

      • +1

Enough to cover up and back…

        • +2

Then it will be about twice as long as the single length.

          • +1

@brendanm: So, you are suggesting that I should get at least double half its length?

            • +1

@pegaxs: Double half its length for single run. Quadruple half its length for a run up and back. 6 times half its length for a run up and back, then up again. Unless of course your original length was for up and back, and not just a "up". In that case, we may have to redo the calculations.

    • Twice as long as half it's length.

  • Kind of curious on this myself.
OP are you after what was the advertised price vs sale price, trying to identify discounting %?

Which would depend if the advertised price was 'in the range' to begin with.

Reason I am curious is I noticed the Redbook private sale price for my car has dropped from $21,300 to $19,200 since March.

  • Vague question will provide no meaningful data. Far too many variables.

  • If it's still on Carsales it isn't sold most likely because it's listed too high. Carsales don't publish what the price it sold for. Better indication would be Redbook but even redbook isn't a bible. At the end of the day it's only worth how much someone is prepared to pay for it.

Incredibly useful info without knowing anything about the car though

  • Mate of mine just sold a Prado with 3000km on it for 90k. He purchased it for 82k.
