Well, this is a big step up compared to mini 2, I believe mini 2 is here to stay along with mini 3.
I think you’re right. That’s why I just bought the mini 2.
I don't think you'll be disappointed. This mini 3 is a huge step up, but it's a step up to the bottom of the "prosumer" market, rather than to the top of the casual consumer market which the mini 2 sits in the middle of. If you're just interested in having some fun and getting the occasional cool shot while on holiday, you can't go wrong with the mini 2.

@Dan83: I am actually considering this Mini 3 to replace the Phantom 3 Standard I sold a few years ago. It's exactly the perfect blend of easy to carry and high quality photos and videos that I want.
any comments on whether the dji care refresh worth getting guys?

Although I think I will hold off on buying Mini 3 and get my hands dirty on Mini 2 properly.
Once I'm done and if my Mini 2 is still in good condition, I can sell that and get a Mini 3. By then the price may have come down a bit as well.You can also unlock a few extra features with Litchi that give it an extra lease of life.

@Dan83: Yea and that master shots feature is what i have been hesitant with air 2 cuz im a first time drone owner and live in cbd so I can hardly practice. That feature would save my life. So glad to see it in mini 3

Hopefully significantly better than the Mini (1). I still recall watching mine descend into the sea on it's own… a known problem with that model.
Happen to me too, I’ve lodged a complaint and submitted the logs, they sent a new one ( outside warranty ). Never had issues with the new one as they fixed this bug with firmware updates.
The uncommanded descend had nothing to do with firmware, it was deformed props due to people not storing the drone properly in the case. Once the props go out of shape, its unable to sustain flight properly and starts to descend, sometimes into undesirable terrain like the middle of the ocean. Replacing the bent props and storing in the flymore case properly would have fixed it.
You'll find with the Mini 2 it came standard with a strap to secure the props from any deformations to mitigate this issue, same could be used on the Mini 1.it's really not the fault of the user with regards to improper storage. The case itself allowed for the blades to swing about inside. I used to try and make sure they were aligned perfectly before closing the lid before it happened to me. But it happened anyway.
Very very happy with mine, got it a couple of days ago, big jump up from my Spark. Not having to connect the phone to the controller is also so much easier. Is going to make quick shots so much easier when travelling.

I don't think there will be a better deal for EOFY, but you might find a better promotion to stack it with. e.g. Shopback/Afterpay/Cashreward promotion being at the same time as some eBay promotion.

Is the remote controller on this a basic one with a screen?
I've seen another style of DJI remote with a screen, which sells for about $1200 on it's own.

Dji also just released a firmware update for the Mini Pro 3 which added 10bit recording to D-Cinelike which is great but also be aware that HDR in the Mini 3 Pro isn't actually HDR its a quasi dual native iso composition which can get ghosting in the video.
Also like others are saying this isn't just a upgrade to the mini 2 this a big step up which is why it is given the Pro title.Also an upgrade in the price. The Mini 1-SE/2/3 are sold at very different price-points, $500/$750/$1100 just for the basic kit. Which suits your budget and needs only you can decide.

used maybe cuz i personally feel mini 3 isnt really in the mini range. its more like an air 2 in a smaller body (i think its more likely to see air 2 drop in price
