Where Could Used EGO Batteries Be Reconditioned?

Hi Team,

I have 4 out of warranty used EGO batteries that need reconditioning.

Would anyone know where to take them for reconditioning in AU? I have called several battery shops but no luck so far.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

  • If you can't DIY it's probably not going to be cheaper than buying new packs. However, try looking for battery rebuilding or repacking service rather than reconditioning and you'll likely get more results.

  • Have you contacted EGO themselves?

  • You'd probably be better off buying new unless you can repack it yourself and reset or replace the BMS.

Which battery shops have you already called? Did you ask the ones you called if they could suggest anyone else?

I just did a quick Google search and there were 195,000 results.

So you already know the answer as you have "called several battery shops but no luck so far.".

Google reconditioning a battery and see how they do it.

You likely want rebuilding, not reconditioning, as it's likely a cell in the battery has failed and needs to be replaced… if that's possible.

If you find somewhere, can you update this post with the info? I have a couple that have the dreaded Red Ring of Death.

  • Ide imagine it won't be worth paying labour costs repairing on-top of new cells.

Depending on your skills have a look on YouTube for DIY fixes.

    EGO Batteries Be Reconditioned

Lithium batteries don't get reconditioned. It's >500 cycles and game over.

    • not that quick to go over that 500 cycles, what happens to most lithium pack is one or several cells go rogue/out of voltage and just need replace/rebalance them then the whole pack is good to go again.

  • Thank you all for valuable info and thoughts, much appreciated.
New battery will be the best outcome.

    cheers
