Which Size of Taxi Suits for Airport Drop off

Hi everyone,
For the first time we will be travelling overseas.

We have 2 big luggages and a baby stroller and a few cabin bags. 2 adults and 1 baby (1.5 yo).

I’m trying to find the ideal taxi size for the Melbourne airport drop off and bit confused with the options.
Using the 13 cabs:
1-) Station wagon (no detail)
2-) SUV (doen’t say anything about the size)
3-) Maxi taxi (looks like a minibus)

Unfortunately their call centre is an automated system. No chance to ask anything.

I believe we need a Toyota Kluger type of taxi, so we can fit everything without hassle.
The challenge is we need to go to airport at 1.30 am in the night so, if the taxi I booked is not the right size it will be a headache.

Is there any way to learn or ensure the specific car we are getting with 13 cabs? Or if anyone knows that the SW or SUV options are always big enough to fit the requirement.
Thanks

Edit note: added number of passengers

  • How many people?

    • 2 adults and 1 baby (1.5 yo)

  • How many people? Not very clear from your description.
If it's only 2 adults plus the baby, you may struggle with carrying everything in the first place…

Also if it's only 2 adults, the standard Camry will suffice.

    • Thanks. Sorry, fogot to provide the numbers. 2 adults and one baby.
Planing to keep the baby in pram until the flight and use the luggage carrying carts. But yes it will be a good challenge :)

If you're stressed and not sure then bigger is safer.
But I think the SUV should be big enough for 2 adults, child, stroller and luggage

    • Only thing is, when it’s SUV is it always a big SUV guaranteed like Toyota Kluger size ?
Or any chance end up with a compact one?

      • It's an SUV, it could be either.
Maxi taxi is the safest option

Having been confused myself with this, I chose the maxi taxi which worked out fine. So if you want to be sure, the maxi taxi will definitely fit it all in, probably be a bit of overkill but better that than you are stuck waiting for another one to pick up with a stressed family looking at you wondering why you didn't think about all this beforehand.

I have no idea how have the millions of families with luggage got to the airport before you.

Most will just do it vs analysis paralysis.

How did you manage to organise passports, visas, where you are going, flights, accomodation, what will you do there, how will you get around there, what you will eat, buying forex, travel insurance, etc if you're stumped on getting a taxi to the airport??

They're probably just going to stay with relatives in Tasmania 🙂
