    So it's $545.30 with discount! :)

  • Anyone what why this watch is better then let's say a normal smart watch from Samsung or Fitbit or spoke ?

If your interested in analysing fitness data ( e.g running in certain training zones, cadence, etc) Garmin would be a great go to. Otherwise it's probably a bit of overkill and a Fitbit would be enough. Personally I'm a Garmin fan and use the metrics for training ( I have the Fenix 6 pro and highly rate it, my gf wants one but would be massive overkill for her to use as a pedometer)

9-34 days of runtime depending on mode. Recharge once a week and not once a day. I had a android watch but got sick of having to recharge every day.
The transflective screen might be a bit dull but in full sun it has probably better visibility than most OLED watches.

    • Swimming tracking, onboard maps are the two main reasons for me, also tracks a heap of different sports

  • Dim screen is what I dislike in these type of watches

Battery life is always the trade off…
Get the Epix for the OLED screen if you must.

      • Ya I'll look it up, Thank you muscles

  • Got the 6s pro solar and its a good watch, would recommend this one if the features are similar.

  • 6S has been out for a well already. Will the battery life drop even if they are always in the box?

Venu range provide a good balance with OLED screen and about 5 days battery life along with Garmin fitness features

    • havent seen the new venu 2 plus on sale since release though :(

    • My friend has Venu and recommends, what's the pros and cons vs the Fenix?

      • Lack of In built maps and back tracking in venu was one I remember when I was comparing back then.

  • I've been thinking about a bike computer and need a new smart watch. Wonder if this might be a good two in one solution. Or, just a device that doesn't really do either thing as good as two independent devices might…

Depends on what level of riding you are doing but for me, a separate bike computer has definite advantages. You can get more data onto the screen of the bike computer, it integrates well with additional sensors like speed, cadence and power meters and having it out front on the handlebars is a lot more friendly than trying to look at your wrist.

Depends on how much you look at your bike computer. If you need it for navigation or constantly monitoring stats (speed, heart rate, cadence etc), then I would suggest having 2 separate devices as the bike computer will give you a larger screen (navigation and more stats) up front without taking your hands off the bars. If you're more into just tracking stats and reviewing afterwards, and occasional checkup whilst riding, then this will do the job and is quite accurate and has plenty of battery life. A bluetooth heart strap will give you even more HR stats.

I attached Fenix 6X to the bike bar and used it for couple of months before I bought the Edge. You can also buy a dedicated holder for the watch so that you can snap it and remove easily like a bike computer.

It does everything that EDGE can do except small screen.

  • I'm struggling to decide if this is worth it since its nearly 3 years old comparing it to the fenix 7s….
It seems like the 7s doesn't really have much more other than touchscreen and better battery life. the screen res seems to be the same as well? are the screens actually identical?

    • Navigation on maps using the buttons (without touchscreen) is a real pain, and the reality is that the 6S will also last almost a week on its battery, so is it worth paying ~$500 for the 7S?

      • Exactly what I was thinking after typing it… I pulled the trigger.
Oh if anyone has SmartSpending with their employer, JBHiFi gift cards are 5% off so that brings it down to around $518 with $4.70 left over (since you have to buy a $550 gift card).
Also, the perks doesn't stack… the website chooses wickedweds over the $10 voucher.
        Hope that helps someone!

  • The S stands for small, right? No letter is medium and X is large?

      Correct.
