Just a piece of advise for gas lift bed frame, avoid to buy if there isn’t another piece steel bar to support middle section.

I had a king bed gas lift frame which hollow underneath and the skeleton frame actually bent/curved/bowed after just a year. Couple of us just weighed not over 160kgs at that time. Not to mention over 200kgs combined body weight sleep on in.

For single size maybe ok but definitely not queen or king bed

    • Thanks for the advice, can you see if the one listed has that metal bar you're referring to?

      • From image I can’t see any support. You might want to see actual bed frame to ensure how the design is. Once the skeleton frame is bend, you either live with it or become land filler

        • Oh I see what you mean. You mean a leg in the middle right?

@hmmz: As long as there’s a support… either got couple of legs or straight cross bar leap over the side wood frame will do.

If complete blank hollow underneath the skeleton frame, I’m suggesting to avoid.

Obviously this is owner preference… I’m just talking from my own experience with no middle support bed frame will no longer in my shopping list

    • agree with this, even for non gas lift, just the ones with no support in the middle suck. My hubby and I, around 140 kgs combined , and totally bent the middle.

      • I ordered a similar but not a gas lift. Sides are not from solid timber and as others have said- bend break easily.
To the benefit of the seller, they sent a replacement pack (box 2, the includes both sides, legs etc) free of charge. So I replaced the side, used spare legs in the middle of both sides and then modified another bar to support the mattress at the feet section, so that mattress would not sag.
All in all - would probably buy another bed next time. These are cheap for a reason. Though single beds I bought for the kids seem rigid enough to last a few years before they get proper queen size beds

        • OoC, why do your kids need queen size beds?

          • @Jackson: When they grow older. I definitely enjoyed one myself, so don't see why they should not. But will be their choice

  • They seem like the weak slats that break easy if so not worth $300

    • I agreed I ended up ordering a King Single via one of the amazon store and ended up returning it as most of the cheap frame comes with weak slats that creates backpain even if we use proper mattress. Buyers be aware when you buy a cheap bed frame like this & I guess these are imported from China.

Buyer beware - Brosa customer service is terrible. Had to lodge a complaint with the ACCC to get a refund for a cancelled item. Similar comments on their social media about refunds being withheld.

  • Wow, half the price of IKEA and if you do a google search you can find half the price again. I guess if you cheap out you can afford to do some mods if required and still come out ahead

The 200 dollar ones weren't from Brosa 😂

Maybe the guy below me is a Brosa?

This is a bargain, even second hand is around 350 to 450

My Mrs regularly postulates that our bed already has gas lift… however for some reason its not welcome by her once I activate it.

(thank you I'll show myself out)
