Boost or Kogan Mobile in Melbourne Outer Suburb?

I’m on my last few days of a 12 months JB Hi-Fi mobile plan contract. I’m looking to switch to something cheaper but with good amount of data. Kogan mobile obviously give more data but it’s on Vodafone network so I don’t know if the network quality is good.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

It varies suburb by suburb. Try picking up a half price Vodafone starter pack from the supermarket, use it for a month and if you don't like it port back to Telstra/boost

  • would go with Boost as they use the full Telstra network

    • Wish if their $30/month plan comes with 40gb data. I would switch instantly

  • Which network are you using now? If it is acceptable then search for MVNO that uses the same network to see which one is cheaper.

    • I’m with telstra at the moment. But 5G or even 4G only gives me 1 bar at home. I’m in Taylor Lakes

      • Then grab an Optus and Vodafone $2 sims at Coles or Wollies tomorrow and try them to see which one is better. Then jump to the best one.

  • I can't comment on coverage in Melbourne as I'm in perth's northern suburbs. I was optus until January then swapped to kogan due to their buy 1 get 1 free offer. Coverage is ok but it consistently drops out for a moment or two but is annoying to the point where my wife complained about it so much I purchased a Boost 365 day plan and see how that goes.

    • my gf is on Kogan Mobile and she's having the same problem. I thought it was her phone because that would happen anywhere anytime

  • My coverage in Western suburbs of Melbourne is good, providing I stand in the centre of my lounge room..

    • are you talking about Boost or Kogan?
