Isn't this basically the standard price of these? At best it looks like the Kogan First price available to everyone. The "Don't Pay $499.99" is for a comparable product, not the price of this product, it's a rubbish Kogan thing they do (for example, see the brighter version of this that's not on sale - https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-6500-lumens-full-hd-wifi-…) edit: You can also see it when you add the foxtel box, suddenly it says don't pay $279 on the 5500 lumen one. Usually Kogan projectors let you add a foxtel box for a dollar, not $10, so basically you save a few bucks at best.

Take the brightness with a grain as salt as well, going by reviews. It'll only work in a dark room.

Are these “real” lumens ratings, or some made-up thing - a bit like “peak watts” for audio?

4000 and 5500 seems a lot for a budget projector.

Definitely real ANSI LUMENS for this price!!!!!!!
      🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • Definitely "Lamp lumen" and not "ANSI lumen". 4000 ANSI lumen at native 1080p would be in the range of 1000s.

  • Next they'll release the Decibel series of phones and speakers.

  • F700

Was $179 during Frenzy I believe.

  • How would these perform for outdoor use?

Thinking of setting up an outdoor/backyard cinema with a roll-up screen under the stars during summer. It will be exposed to the elements but of course only used on good clear nights. Would like to accommodate for friends and family to come over so distance wise would need to allow say 10 people inbetween the screen and projector on beanbags etc.

unless young children, your guests will ask why you didn't spend more on a quality lamp. They'll start to throw the nice foods you've served them as snackage at the screen, at you and at each other in disappointment - movie night in great outdoors ruined!

At least if it's on the wall, it'll be easy to hose down the food afterwards!

I bought a 720p projector three years ago from AliExpress, likely to be less good than this. It makes for an awesome outside cinema experience on my cheap 120" cloth screen, as long as it's dark outside. I don't leave the projector outside.

  • Why Kogan doesn’t disclose honest info about the ansi lumens level ? Even the Chinese shops in aliexpress etc showing them.

Don’t expect Kogan will ever honour any returns if you are not happy about it like eBay or Amazon .
