  • Verified my ID twice (got sent an sms link twice) but still no bank account (let alone the maybe $50) If this is what their customer service is like, I definitely wont be moving banks.

    Still nothing since application shortly after this deal was posted. What a ridiculous bank. Its probably better that the account doesnt open at all, so I dont have to deal with cancelling it. Not even expecting $50 cash at this rate.

    Well I have to say I have now received the access code via sms, card is on the way and I have $50 in the account. There are no fees for the instant account are there? I have asked to remove my negative vote. I hope everyone else is getting the $50 too.

      Yeah same here. Probably more peeps that didnt get any sort of communication than that did. Checked junk mail and spam msgs and still zilch so I gave up on it and if the account opens at all, going to cancel right away.

  • Got sent an email to print form out to fill and bring to Auspost for ID verification. Done, account opened same day and $50 in account.

  • Finally received an email this morning (I actually sent them an email via their contact us page last night to enquire but not sure if that had anything to do with it):

We had quite an influx of applications for the Maroons promotion and I would like to apologise for how long it has taken to get through all these. In order to complete this application, we just need to verify your identification. Once you have been verified we will open the account and deposit the $50.     I’d verify by mobile but I never actually received any SMS, so I’ve just replied back then.

    Not sure why this is still required even after verifying by providing my driver licence details during the application.

    • I verified via link on sms twice (got sent it twice, once on the same night I applied, second time was when I got a similar email to yours) and it somehow failed to verify me. Got sent a link to the paper form and filled it out and went to Auspost with it today. Slightly painful experience, but the PO lady was lovely and sent it off, account was opened a few hours later (got notified by email)

      Nah, too much hassle and Aus post charges you $49 if I am not wrong for id, unless Auswide pay that too along with $50. I am yet to receive any update from 7 June when I completed the process.

      Also, other people didn't have to go through this process of Aus Post identification. Not sure Auswide's acc team is trippin or something.

      • I didnt get charged for ID check. They gave me a receipt that said $0.00. I replied and asked about the $50 before I went to Auspost and they said once I went in with the form and verified my ID I would get it—and I did.

  • They responded very quickly via email since today when I have received the confirmation. I tried to transfer the $50 to my main account, but it says I’m exceeding my daily limit which is 0 and I can’t change it. Do I have to wait for the physical card?

    • No, you can change the limit online. I looked around for awhile and found it. I can log in and find it again if you still cant find it.

      Edit sorry did you mean it wont let you change it? Id try calling them.

      • Yes, I found it, but it doesn’t let me change it. I have sent them an email. It’s not useful if the transaction daily limit is 0.

        • I had to call to request an access code to use internet banking and they asked if i would like to get sms verification when i changed transaction limits and other things, I said yes and when i tried the change the limit i got a sms verification and it went through

  • Account was opened today after initial application, had to go through additional verification, and the $50 was already sitting there waiting. +2 for Auswide Bank sticking to their promo.

  • May be I'll have to downvote this soon. Called again today to check on the progress, lady mentioned, they have nothing under my name and it could be the case that they never received anything. I provided the screenshot that had the message about their team will get in touch and she mentioned in that case we need to check again and will get back.

    And yes, same case with my gf too.

  • Finally recieved email and text with account details and temporary code. Logged in… No $50….

    I applied about 10 before other people on here did who had already received the $50 too. Disappointing, I contacted them… Waiting for a reply.

    Edit: They responded saying they have a list of those who are eligible to receive the $50, and I am on that list. I am no longer disappointed.

  • Finnnnnaaaalllly got a sms to validate my id and capture my face. I didn't think much of it and called up to cancel but they assured me that my application was before the cut off after checking my application number and I am eligible for the $50 :D They go by the application number not by who validated the id first. So even though sms I received is extremely late, my application was within the first 500. (I applied not long after this deal was posted but probably was one of the last people to receive any communication)

  • How difficult could this be? When first applying the sms link didn't work. So waited 10 days to receive the welcome email, but no expected sms. Emailed CS and quickly got replied with the code via sms, however the temp code has a dash "-" at the end which made me think it was part of the password… Retry and figure out after the weekend. Finally set up and glad to see the $50 there already. Had to change the daily limit as default was $0, then when entering the account details, got the error message saying account number is invalid (??) Tried two accounts, didn't work. Eventually, logged out and logged back in again and it worked.

    Rather awkward. Have received the email with my account details (client no., account no. etc.) last Thursday but still waiting for the sms with the access code. Received an email today asking for feedback on how my experience was on opening the account 🙃

    • I submitted my forms one morning last week (forget the day) and the account was opened with the $50 already in it that arvo. Hope you get the email with account details soon. I have not yet received the card though ($50 already transferred out of the account, and already used though!)

    I didn't feel like going to the post office, or trying to go the digital route of taking photos so I didn't complete my application. They called me just now and asked if I wanted to complete it, and said they're still honoring the deal. So there's still hope if people are getting delays etc.

    • Update: called them 2 days ago on Friday and was issued the sms access code immediately. Got my $50 now.

    I got mine but unable to transfer $50 out :( internet banking says invalid account number

    • I wasn’t able to initially transfer out too but for another reason (getting error message when trying to change the daily transaction limit). Called them, it was fixed and got the 50. Just give them a call.

  • I got my $50… Couldn't login to IB initially - was told there needs to be money in the account for the login to work.

    Never got notification that $50 was deposited, just tried one last time now that I received the card in the mail and it worked and $50 is there.

  • Just got my account opened up then. I actually got an email/sms one week last Monday that I needed to verify my ID. Did all of that and still no response. So I emailed the verifications email today and like 10 mins later the account was opened and sms received with the access code.

    Unfortunately no $50 in there yet but I will lodge a ticket tomorrow like another user above to see if I can get it. I did email the lady back who opened my account asking about the $50 but if nothing is heard by later today then I will lodge a ticket.

    If I remember correctly I submitted my application late almost close to 7pm (Sydney) time when the deal went live so who knows if I missed the cut off.

    EDIT. Just got the reply just then about the $50.

        Happy you got it mate. I had to call them a couple weeks back to get the online access code reset and was told to keep waiting. Sent a message the following week and was told to "sit tight" and I'd receive email confirmation of payment "within the next few business days". Waited nearly one and half weeks and sent a follow up on Friday and haven't had a reply yet. Disappointing you'd get a reply before me - service doesn't seem great.

          I am just replying to the verification email they sent me and it goes to the person who was handling the verification.
          But it looks like the same issue I am having as a few others have stated .. I need to ring up and change the transfer limit since it is stuck on $0 so I can't transfer the $50 yet.

            • @akyeeeahdude: If you got an email asking you to do the verification via the phone (scan your face) or at the Post office then reply to that email. I have been replying to that verification email and the lady replies within 10 mins or 20 mins for me.

              Just on another note when I was trying to increase my withdrawal limit on the app earlier today nothing was working. However now it seems to be working. I have upped the limit to $100 and transferred the $50 to my main Commbank account.

              I just done the transfer 10 mins ago and it is past 4pm so I don't expect to get it until end of the week. I will keep you guys updated on how it goes.

    Got the $50 in the account that I thought Ill never get. I had to do the digital identification as well and the whole thing took more than 2 weeks but it was well worth it in the end. Thank you Auswide and the OP for posting this deal!

    Just an update again. The $50 was transferred to my Commbank account earlier this afternoon.

    Now that is done I can look at closing the Auswide Bank account lol.

  • My wife and I have both lodged a complaint as we're still waiting for the bonus. We were genuinely keen to move banks as we're not happy with our one of the big four have looked after us service wise but this doesn't instil us with any confidence Auswide would be better.

    Never heard back from them since I applied - no sms, no email, nothing! This was on the 2nd day of the promotion when I chose Other for ID and gave them my Medicare card no.

    • you'll get the money, just send them a message/complaint via the website.

      • You first need the account though, my partner called them up 2 weeks ago, and they were going to call back. Still nothing.
