Verbatim BD-R 25GB 5pk $2 DSE (Instore Only)

800

In light of the other $2 dvd+r dse deal, this is not really that surprising.
Nevertheless i thought this was a good deal, i dont have a bd writer so no use to me.
There were 5 left at the Werribee plaza… Might be at other stores so post below.

Still at the shops so will post a pic when i get home,
My girlfriend is getting mad at me that i am posting this deal and not paying any attention to her.
'Yes that dress looks good…' …pic will be up soon.

EDIT: Photo uploaded and title changed to "Instore only" as this seems to be the case for all DSE with stock….Goodluck!

With the dress on the hanger! :p

      • +5

        only if she's hot

        • +4

Even if she's not, I've got good stocks of beer ATM so my beer-goggle optics should be adequate to the task! ;)

  • Pictures or it didn't happen

not on web site, no receipt, NOTHING!

  • Whoops, Sorry about tagging this as dupe. Just realised that this is a BD-R!

Scans up as $2, don't even need to ask - http://upload.ozbargain.com/2012/05/19/8464_untitled.png

    btw….not a dupe, these are BD-R !!!

Got all 6 packs at the Hobart store, but hopefully they restock tomorrow for others :)

For those wondering, a 5pk of Verbatim BD-R's usually go for $15 (http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=5pk%20verbatim%…).

  • which store was this?

  • +2

Just bought 4 packs@$2 from Point Cook, Vic. Sadly that was all they had. One word of caution. These are LTH type. Old model BD players won't recognize them if you burn BD movies. Also I've heard that they don't last long. However for 40 cents per BD you can't go wrong. But I'll advise against using them for long term archiving.

Wow, 125GB for $2! Awesome deal.

Do you think Officeworks will price match with these? http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Dat…

    • -4

Why don't you try asking them yourself and come back to tell us here later?

      • Wasn't asking for you to do it for me. Just asking for opinions as is is not the exact same product.
The ones posted are LTH type. The Officeworks ones are not.

        • +1

I'll back you out. Need to have nearby store with it in stock. Clearance pricing is also excluded from price guarantee.

    • Did you end up asking Officeworks? And if so, did they beat the price?

I seen these on the dicksmith website this morning when they were $10 and every store I tried was sold out.

    • they have the 5 pack of TDK's for $10 on the website

      • I know but I think everywhere is sold out.

        • TDK's still available in Hobart store.

  • Wow, crazy price.

    • *upvoted the neg

      • Thanks very much Loopy. Why would anyone neg it? Seriously. Besides which it's a very very good price.

        • +2

Someone must've taken offence to your use of the term 'crazy'!

Perhaps it would be more PC to say 'mentally-ill price'! :p

  • Weird to think optical discs are reaching the end of their life. I might never buy a blu-ray burner. My latest build has no optical drive at all…

    • they're not really, dick smith are just getting rid of verbatim stock by the looks of it

  • It's going to be legen… wait for it…

almost all the Verbatim range is $2.
if you search on their website for Verbatim, almost everything comes up at $2

  • "There were 5 left at the Werribee plaza"

    City/State?

    • Werribee Plaza is in Vic

  • Don't bother if you're on the Gold Coast, all stores sold out of everything Verbatim at the end of last week, even before the DVD deal was posted here.

  • As expected, no stock in all the Canberra stores I went to. Great deal though for those who got it.

    • Did you try belconnen? I cleaned them out of blu-ray at about 1.20pm today

Just picked up 5 out of the 8 at Dick Smith, Westfields Parramatta and am now heading to Uni with 625gb worth of BluRay Blanks in my bag.

    • wow!
don't fill them up before going home, else ya big will be really heavy!

Picked up one in Booragoon, the only one left as far as I could tell and hidden deep beneath a pile of other specials - http://i.imgur.com/NCNZG.jpg

  • They have stock at dickies castle hill but they are marked at $10…. Got him to scan them but made no diff to the price

  • got 2 from east brighton! They were not marked down but were $2 when scanned! Staff at the store said he did not realize they were $2, else he would have cleaned the shelf real nice!

  • Bought the last ones at Northpark, SA. Awesome!

  • Bought the last 2 at my local. Had more of the tdk ones in stock but I didn't need any more. Now to track down for cheap 50gb's. Cheers

I bought some Verbatim bd-r 50GB's from Japan on eBay. They came to $35 for 10 discs including shipping and arrived in Perth within 7 days. They are $37.50 for 10 right now due to the AUS$ reduction but still much better value than anything you will find in the stores here. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-10-Verbatim-3d-blu-ray-50GB-d…

      • The only thing is that I heave heard that some of those re-packed eBay ones are the seconds that the factory rejected. Unsure whether that's true or not.

  • Thanks Rich, just bought one.

  • bought 5 from Carnes Hill store, 2 left. no more DVD and CD left

  • Thanks Ted. Legend.
