Should be criminal for an OLED not to have HDMI 2.1 standard.. funny how all the 5 star reviews omit this fact

    • Why is that?

    • +9

this is an older TV that was released in 2019 anyway… no one back then really cared about HDMI 2.1

So another reason not to buy this tv then…

Genuinely wonder why you think it's such a good deal then

        • +7

Turn it up… a 55" OLED for $1400 featuring HDMI 2.0 because the panel doesn't do 120hz.. is criminal?

    • +1

      Why so many down votes?
If I buy an OLED I want to be able to output my 4k via 2.1

      • +2

OLED TVs have been around for a while so the argument about if you buy an OLED you should have HDMI 2.1 is invalid. You should always check the specs and release year of that model to confirm that you're not missing out on the latest techs such as VRR etc…

the rule should be if I buy an OLED TV that is released in 2020 (which is the year that Xbox Series X and PS5 were released) that is when it is indeed becomes a criminal not to include HDMI 2.1

for example the old and popular LG C9 already had 120hz back then but didn't have HDMI 2.1. Just because its OLED doesn't mean it has all the latest tech

There’s also the 805 for $1599 - PHILIPS 55 Inch 805 Series OLED TV 4K OLED Ambilight Android TV for Netflix, YouTube and Gaming, Freesync Premium, G-sync Compatible, HHDR10+, Dolby Vision and Atmos https://amzn.asia/d/0anwrFE

I’d probably wait for the last of the C1 stocks til it drops closer to the Philips prices. 😃

      Does 805 have HDMI 2.1?

      • +1

Probably not 2.1… I’m waiting for the C1 to drop further and then get that.
