  • ok so these guys are new to me. anyone got any problems with them?

    • +1

i went to the store and bought it, no problems yet

      • +1

ah sorry they are a bricks and mortar store, then no worries about it being legit (we don't have a ryda in Brisbane).

Just to reiterate my post below up here (so that others can see it):

There is a current, free shipping coupon code:

"RYDAVE" (used today, and it works)

      • good man, thanks.

    don't know about them
I have bought from eGblobal (yes grey import)
and the camara arrive in 3 days.

I have been playing with the camera.
and it's a great little gadget.

im saving money now to buy accessories and lenses as I grow.

Great camera and good price for aussie stock. Same sensor as D7000 and Sony A580 which both have excellent high iso capabilities.

619 at kogan if you don't need the accessories etc

    http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/nikon-d5100-kit-single-lens-vr-1…

    • +2

Kogan provides their own warranty, its a grey market stock

    • kogan is $649 incl delivery. eglobal also has them for $619 delivered when using paypal coupon

      • Isnt it $608 delivered with eglobal including the coupon code $628 - $20 = $608 with free postage?

        • Where do we get the ebay coupon code from?

        • you are correct mate it ends up $608

The paypal code is :EGLPAYPAL20. It is on their front page

  • how much better are these compared to canon's 1100d?

    • +2

This whoops the 1100d's butt, especially at low light. Only down side is you're stuck with Nikon lenses, which are generally more expensive than the equivalent Canon, unless you go to brands like Sigma, Tamron and what not.

      • I see
        Thanks :)

  • love to see a deal on the 7000

  • downside with 5100 is no motor so u are stuck with motorized lens only

    • +1

yupe. and that can be a kick in the pocket for many of us
(Nikon motorised lenses are so expensive)

howerver, once you own them, you can re-use these motorised lenses for future cameras
and that could turn out to be good.
