To be more specific, how much would they tolerate you trading in games that you obviously bought from other retailers for discounted price or deals and trading them at eb games for higher value?
e.g. call of duty vanguard is $19 at target/amazon and the trade in value at EB is around $25 or so (not much gain but if you trade for pre-order you get 50% bonus credit right now).
would they call the police if I walk in to trade 4 brand new copies of COD vanguard or ban me for life??
some store have lazy staffs, better to check the prices online every time as they always go by it.
That's strange, scanned COD Vanguard PS5 is full priced, different to online price.
didn't give it a thought, always in a hurry to other JB stores to find games. lol
Going to a Target store is like a whole new dimension, since all my local stores been converted to Kmart.

Lol @ police… yeah, because trading games in is a criminal offence… What is criminal though is the markup EB put on traded in games.
hence the scheme to take advantage of them when I can.
In my experience they won’t take more than 2 copies of the same game. But just trade them in for store credit on a gift card and then go to another store and do it again. They don’t seem to check the trade history when accepting.
this was what i was about to say, they stop at 2, but there is so many eb games around! they will do it no worries at the next point!
But it depends i guess on the game, COD vanguard might drop in trade value heappppppppppps cause of what it was worth last week.
as of today its value is at $28, or $42 if you trade in for pre-order.

@Sutra: Nah, certain preorders for titles that were recently announced. Not sure where you can find a full list, but I know Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, Marvel's Midnight Suns are a part of the deal.
Trade in would've been more if it weren't for the mid year sale.
Just make sure you actually have opened the game not left it in factory seal
OP walks into EB Games holding 4 copies of FIFA '20
Nervous employee trembling, slowly dialing 000. "Yes, there's a person here with four FIFAs, I think they might be trading-in!".
000 operator: "Say no more, we've got your location and are dispatching our best.".
Minutes pass, OP finishes browsing the latest Funko Pops and heads for the counter. "Hello I'd like to trade in these four copies of FIFA."
Before the employee can say a word there's an explosion towards the entrance, red SALE signs are flying everywhere. 10 armed special response group personnel in full body armor storm the store. "ON THE GROUND NOW" they scream to OP.
this is exactly why I made this thread, to avoid getting into sticky situation like this.
My experience as a former employee, they wouldn't care much. It looks good on their KPI.
Anyone know of any other games that has same or higher value?
i mean, considering this the cheapest/most heavily discounted game on amazon/target at the moment plus the price tag is still quite high on stores that don't have it on discount, I don't think there is a better one out now. Unless of course you don't factor this in, then I'm sure there are ones with higher trade in value.
I don't play games hence have no idea. Wanting to get one for my friend, hence it is a good way to swap out my JB GC. Not sure how long this would last hence would be good if there's other game option. As it would be a little bit odd trying to swap 5 copies of the same game..lol
if only you posted this earlier, i was in a Target store today.
didn't see Vanguard on PS4 although the website says in-stock, scanned most games there all full priced.
