I got the micro usb adapters last time but they arent very durable. The micro usb end plastic bit snapped after about 2 months of use (night time charge only).

The plastic bit is clipped in whereas genuine cables are one piece moulded.

    • Ahh okay. I was planning to tightly tape wrap them up since I have zero use for Mini USB anymore, would this assist in strengthening them?

EDIT: Nevermind, you said the micro end not the mini end.

yeah I was already anticipating that, I had taped off the mini end thinking it was going to come loose but the micro end gave out instead.
I taped it when it got slightly loose but it was too late.
Might last 3-6 months if you tape if off from the start.

Its a shame because I have some really good/long genuine mini usb cables

        • I taped mine after one broke off inside a mate's phone! Been working fine for at least 8 or 9 months now…

    They are really bad quality.

They fall apart after mild usage, of the two I got, one is still working the other one keeps falling apart.

    • I'm a computer trainer and often run raffles at the end of courses where I basically give away a few things, I might just put these in the 3rd prize pile :)

I have one of these mini-USB to micro-USB. I want to warn that you can not expect this to let you use any micro-USB device.

Nowadays it's anyone's guess what type of mini/micro USB cable it is we have (data cable, charge cable, combined, and for which brand). If you intend to use your mini-USB as a micro-USB cable, chances are this converter will not work for you. Likewise, these cables that are sold may not work as data, charge, or any type of cable for your phone.

These are honestly trash, stay away from 'em, poor quality and their ends snap off too easily

  • I have bought a couple of things from Meritline and they have all been absolute rubbish. I'll never bother with them again. Better off on eBay where you can leave negative feedback for the seller which hopefully means they might think twice about selling crap like this.

    Same with me.
I bought two of these last time around, and both micro ends have snapped. Not worth the money.

  • I'm wondering why people keep coming back to Meritline, since on every single post of theirs, the comments are inundated with reports of ridiculously flimsy and poor quality products?
