  • Ugh Lego Batman 3 OOS within 15 mins :(

Though not sure why it says OOS when behind the banner it shows 6500+ copies left

    • Its a misleading information text as its either all stock sold out, or the 6 hour promo window period has expired, whichever comes first … which typically, is the promo window period.

Incidentally, I think the GOG website admin(s) may have borked it, the next new game should have immediately replaced the just-concluded promo-discounted game (LEGO Batman 3) on the landing page for the next 6 hours … that clearly hasn't happened.

EDIT: just refreshed and noticed they have finally put up the next new game for promo discount: Founder's Fortune

      • Ah must have been the timer that ran out … though it did say around 5h left from behind the OOS banner. Probably a glitch when changing to the next game.

        • I was watching the banner at 2pm and can confirm it was a timeout, and not OOS.

          • +1

@Grissallia: Bummer, was hoping to play some LEGO games and relive the nostalgia.

  • Founder's Fortune… anyone have an opinon whether it is worth it?

    • +1

      Looks like garbage to me.

  • The next Insomnia Promo-discounted game is now listed: Death Trash (3,000 copies at 20% off, A$23.19 - normally A$28.99; ITAD says lowest had been A$23.90, 10% off at itch.io in late October 2021)

    • Ah so 20% counts as an "insanely deep discount" in their minds, interesting.

      • Yeah, not the deep discount one would hope for - Death Trash has gotten pretty good reviews, but technically still in early access … so a more substantial discount would've been nice

  • Have updated the post with today's 2:00am-8:00am promo discounted game (Blood: Fresh Supply), and the new 8:00am-2:00pm promo discounted game (Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove)

  • +1

    Thanks for the updates.

  • Unlike the earlier games whose listed prices reverted back to their normal list prices (or GOG Summer Sale discounted prices), for some reason, the Insomnia Promo discount of 70% is STILL currently applied to Monster Train, even though its 15/06 2:00pm-8:00pm AEST promo window already finished earlier …

… not sure how long this 70% discount will last, but this might interest people who had earlier missed out on the initial promo period for Monster Train

  • +1

Not sure if anyone else had noticed in the last half hour or so, but it was a struggle for me to successfully edit/update my post - I kept getting Cloudflare / Bad gateway errors and timeouts when viewing OzB website posts - not fun …

… anyway I think my edit(s) have finally succeeded

  • +2

thanks OP for keeping the deals updated.

  • If anyone happened to have glimpsed how many copies were sold at the end of the promo periods for: Monster Train, King's Quest 4+5+6, let me know and I can those stats to the post as I keep updating it when I can

  • Found and updated the Insomnia Promo details/completed stats for King's Quest 4+5+6, Call of the Sea, Star Trek: Away Team, and have also added the newest promoted game, UnMetal - and the next predicted game is American Conquest + Fightback

  • Updated post title, completed stats for Dawn of Man and Tropico 6, added new current promo discounted game Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom and next upcoming predicted game Papetura

Interestingly, this is the first time throughout this Insomnia 2022 Promo event, that the number of copies offered at a discount for a promoted game during its promo window period, has been decreased from the initial 15,000, then 8,000, then 3,000 … and now to just 1,000 copies (all time low discount of 60% A$3.19 according to ITAD) for Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom

There's now a chance that all 1,000 copies might get sold BEFORE the 6 hour promo window period expires at 2:00PM today (June 19)

    • Just under 30 minutes to go and 518 out of 1000 copies have been sold, that leaves ~482 copies at the 60% Insomnia discount proce for Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom

edit: in the end, 565 copies were sold

… and GOG has for some reason bumped up the stock again for the next newly promoted game - Papetura - to 3000 copies

  • +1

Thanks for all your efforts OP! Got myself imperator: Rome :)

    • +1

Nice, glad to hear you found an Insomnia promo deal to your liking

  • 1 hour to go for Blasphemous Digital Deluxe Edition's 1000 copies at 80% off A$9.99 - less than 490 copies remaining …

    • ended up being 616 copies sold

New current discounted game is: Machinarium Collector's Edition

Next predicted game to be Insomnia discounted is: Spacebase Startopia

  • Well that's … interesting. Hitman: Blood Money had 3,000 copies offered at GOG historic low price of A$1.39 from 2.00AM AEST earlier this morning … and all 3,000 copies have already sold out BEFORE the 6 hour promo window period expires at 8AM today !

Next game predicted is: Dungeons 3

    • Yeah I would have got it but I was asleep, when I woke up, sold out…

      • Same for me as well, I was surprised because all the preceding Insomnia discounted games had not sold out of their offered stock, so I thought the same would happen for Hitman: Blood Money … I was wrong on that notion!

  • +1

I enjoyed playing Two Worlds (either 1 or 2, can't remember) a lot at some point. Will give it a go.

    • You're in luck … the next predicted upcoming Insomnia deal will be on Two Worlds Epic Edition between 2:00PM and 8:00PM AEST today (June 24th), likely to be at least 80% off discount or possibly more

  • +1

Less than an hour to go before the Insomnia Promo ends at 2.00PM AEST for Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry

    • Noticed something slightly weird: the Insomnia Promo landing page says A$2.89, but if you click 'Buy Now' button and it automatically transitions to the checkout page, its list price is now displaying as A$2.99 … hmmm.

also, with the commencement of OzB's EoFY 2022 Treasure Hunt - I might not be able to update my post with completed/active/upcoming Insomnia Promo discounted games in a timely manner … due to the OzB site being generally under heavy load due to all the OzB treasure hunters haha

Regardless of whether I can keep updating this post in a timely manner and/or this OzB post is hard to view/access due to the heavy site load … just head over directly to www.gog.com in-between 2:00AM / 8:00AM / 2:00PM / 8:00PM AEST of each day to see whether the Insomnia promoted game deal is to your liking or not

  • +1

Thanks so much OP, I've grabbed 3 deals so far. However I'm running windows 11 and having issues installing GOG Galaxy… comes up with .dll errors, any ideas? Can you install each game without installing Galaxy?

    • +1

One of the things I really like about GOG, is their having made offline installer packages available for just about every game in their storefront.

So if you go to your GOG account and then click on your desired game's cover, on the popup, go down to the section below 'GOG GALAXY' and click on the file(s) displayed under 'DOWNLOAD OFFLINE BACKUP GAME INSTALLERS', download the file(s) onto your computer and then run those installers to install the game

  • +1

OP I have no idea how you get the info on the next upcoming deal but I really appreciate it! Gives me a valuable heads up. Thanks so much for all your updating.

    • Glad to hear my efforts at updating the post is appreciated as a useful thing for folks here.

For the upcoming deal game predictions, a forum post pointed out that there's an exposed webpage with various JSON/raw data on the Insomnia deals - including the entire set of tags that one can use on GOG search engine's tag feature to narrow down and therefore identify the next upcoming game

e.g. at the minute, the exposed tags are: "Indie", "Puzzle", "Casual", "Familiy Friendly", "Physics", "building". If you type this into the GOG search engine, that narrows it down to:

Webbed - which incidentally is a well reviewed and award-winning indie game developed here in Australia!

  • Updated post with today's earlier completed Insomnia promo deals (Webbed, System Shock 2, Two Worlds Epic Edition), tonight's (8pm-2am) current deal on Port Royale 4, and tomorrow morning's (2am-8am) predicted game: Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

  • Good news for anyone who had missed a GOG Insomnia 2022 deal on one or more games this past week or so (see the post's updated/maintained table) …

    https://www.gog.com/en/news/gogs_summer_sale_finale_is_here_…

"Finally, be sure to keep an eye on the Insomnia Promo which is ending this Saturday. If you feel you missed a deal, fear not! From Saturday at 9:59 PM UTC until Sunday at 9:59 PM UTC you will be able to grab the selected titles that were already present on the sale during the Insomnia Rewind.

GOG’s Summer Sale will last until June 27th at 9:59 PM UTC."

This Insomnia Rewind period would be Sunday June 26th 8:00AM AEST until Monday June 27th 8:00AM AEST

  • I cannot see any more deals… Haven't been able to all afternoon and evening? Maybe there is an issue on my end….

  • Nope, its definitely the same for me and everyone else I'd imagine.

I think the Insomnia Promo deals have been suspended/paused temporarily since 2PM this afternoon … but come 8:00PM this evening, it might resume/re-initialize again and show - Corpse Party 2021 ?

    … time will tell!

    • +1

Updated post with Corpse Party (2021)

      • The previously exposed JSON data with game tags that helped with identifying the next predicted upcoming Insomnia discounted game … has now been removed.
      • Which means that there is no readily identifiable candidate for the next upcoming game at 2:00AM AEST …
      • +1

Yes I noticed that, thought you might be able to conjure up some magic though. Oh well at least they have that rewind, as I will probably be asleep!

      • +1

Looks like it's back up and can be predicted again.

  • Just woke up, and Project Warlock 2-pack became the last Insomnia discounted game, prior to the new, more frenetic Insomnia Rewind period, starting shortly at 8:00AM this morning!

    https://www.gog.com/en/news/didnt_catch_your_perfect_deal_no…

If you feel like some of our Insomnia deals disappeared too quickly, we’ve got good news for you! For the next 24h, we are speeding things up. Insomnia Rewind starts now, with deals that will change every hour giving you the next chance to buy great games with extremely deep discounts.

Remember, the games you’ll see during this event were already present on our Insomnia Promo, giving you a clear hint of what’s coming. ;)

this is gonna get a bit more frenetic … just ONE hour per game, this may actually bring about insomnia hahaha

edit: I've updated the post details / table. I'm not gonna have the stamina to keep adding new lines to the already lengthy table, but hopefully its clear enough for people to be able to see and simply check the previously recorded Insomnia discounted games.

The best I can probably do, is update the deal post's Subject heading to indicate which "Insomnia Rewind game-of-the-hour" is currently on, see how that goes …

    • The new/current Insomnia Rewind game is: Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Heart of the Forest - 75% off A$5.39 (was A$21.50)

… this was better than the earlier Insomnia discount of 70% off A$6.49 !

it would be slightly disappointing for those who already paid for this game during the earlier Insomnia 2022 promo event period

New/current Insomnia Rewind game is: Human Resource Machine - 75% off A$5.39 (was A$21.50).
Next predicted game is: Field of Glory II

      • Dammit slept in and missed another hit man:(

        • +1

That's a shame. Sometime in the remaining Insomnia Rewind period, Hitman: Blood Money will get its 1-hour window of being discounted (again), so that's something to keep an eye out for

      • +1

Unexpectedly, the JSON tags that help identify the next upcoming game to be discounted … appears to say that it will be PC Building Simulator from 2:00PM to 3:00PM 8:00PM AEST

… weirdly though, this game was NOT among the previously Insomnia discounted games (see table above) …

edit: GOG forum members speculate that for the Insomnia promo window period that had no game listed for 6 hours (from 25/06 2:00PM to 6:00PM), that was where PC Building Simulator was supposed to originally appear, but didn't (due to a bug perhaps) … and now its being shown as the current Insomnia discounted game, belatedly, for 6 hours (not 1 hour) !

    • Well, its a bit of a mess I gotta say … what appeared to be a 2:00PM-8:00PM Insomnia Rewind promo window for PC Building Simulator got cut short well before the 8:00PM cut-off time …

… the next game has been displayed, Dungeons 3, same discount as last time, 70% off, A$13.49, was A$44.95

… the next predicted game, unless tags get abruptly changed again, should be: Optus Magnum

  • +1

Hitman blood money, $1.39 right now :)

    • +1

I just woke up and saw this as well … I'll update my post to reflect this

edit: post updated. This is the very last GOG Insomnia 2022 promotion discount, no more games are going to be Insomnia-discounted after Hitman: Blood Money

  • +1

Well, that's a wrap for GOG's Insomnia 2022 promo event. Not gonna lie, that took a bit of time and effort on my part to keep maintaining and updating … but I hope some folks found it useful, to the point that they were able to snag some game deals for themselves.

I have mixed feelings on this promo:

    • GOOD - I liked how it changed things up a bit, e.g. something other than the recurring seasonal sales, or newsletter discounts; and many of the games were discounted at least ~5-10% better than even their Steam Summer Sale 2022 prices over on Steam
    • BAD - it was also a bit messy at certain points (bad mis-scheduling of one game, led to 4 games being "hidden" during Rewind !), and also rather annoying that you couldn't buy more than 1 copy of a Insomnia discounted game, e.g. to give as a gift to a friend.

I managed to get 3 deals myself, for under $10 in total, so I'm fairly happy - especially with Hitman: Blood Money being my 3rd and last purchase this morning :)

    • +1

I managed to grab 9 including the free one. Partially thanks to your efforts, so at any rate, I really appreciated you.

How many will I play? Probably not many for a while, I tend to have gaming phases once every couple of years where I play lots for a couple of months, but outside that I rarely play. Odd I know, but hey with this and my epic freebies and steam collection I'm more than set for my next gaming period :)
