Looking for a Fast Gaming Laptop Budget $1100

I'm looking for a laptop for basic gaming like Age of Empires 2 DE that is quick for day to day heavy internet use.
Budget max $1100. Ideally 1000GB SSD, min 16GB ram.

I'm looking around but plagued by indecision. Future proofing? Overheating? Fast enough processor? So many questions.

I'm not interested in purchasing a laptop that I need to upgrade the ram of.

Any recommendations?

  • You'll be up for more like $1500 unless you're willing to compromise a few factors. Dirt cheap "gaming" laptops usually have garbage screens for example.

I usually just live on Dave2d, Jarrod, other YouTubers' channels.

  • Dell G15 5515 usually goes for about $1k

When you buy a budget laptop you should probably expect the usual caveats — a dim 250 nit display (though keeping in mind 250 nit is the "norm" for a lot of laptops in the sub $1k price point), and paltry amount of SSD storage.

There is also a $1195 RTX 3060 Acer Nitro 5 but read the comments and review before commiting to the purchase.

I also vote for Acer Nitro 5

You're not gonna get a better GPU than that in a laptop within your budget.

    Future proofing with $1100 budget?

    Tell him he's dreamin

Seconding the previous comments on G5 5515 and Nitro 5, those are pretty much your only options in this price range.

In both cases, you are getting machines with pretty average build quality and basic features, but with enough performance to run most modern games at medium settings and acceptable framerates.

If you want more than that, you'll need to spend more, or look at the used market.

If you're willing to wait, toward the end of the year we will get laptops with Ryzen 6000U series APUs - these should achieve performance akin to a low-end dGPU like an RTX 3050, without requiring a seperate GPU (meaning, ideally, thinner laptops with better battery life)

Why do you want a laptop? Do you need the versatility? Desktops are so much nicer. I feel like the advancement of mobile phones has made laptops almost redundant.

  • Merged from Best Basic Gaming Laptop under $1000

I've been keeping an eye out for a very basic gaming laptop under $1000.

I want 16GB ram (without needing to upgrade it myself), 512GB SSD hard drive and more than just an integrated graphics card. Ideally with some not completely terrible fan. I'm not fussed about the display, weight or battery life.

Any recommendations? Should I wait for any particular sale event?

I don't mind buying a refurbished laptop from a reputable seller.
