Xiaomi Mi PB2050SZM 50W 20,000mAh USB-C/A Powerbank $55.99 ($54.59 eBay Plus) Delivered @ Xiaomi Global Direct eBay

780
PLUSFY22SAFY20

Not a bad deal for this one.

Supports most fast charging protocols, at least QC and PD.

Charging input 45W, output 50W.

Suitable for charging anything from phones, iPads, even light duty laptops, would pair well with a Macbook air or something similar.
45W input is great for a quick top off when you need it.

I've had one of these for 2 or 3 years so far and rate it better than the ROMOSS crap which often arrives DOA, but this particular model is plagued with stupidly high retail prices and being out of stock, so seems a decent find.

    • Updated, thanks.

  • Would this super fast charge samsung phones?

    • I don't think it would support 3.0 PPS, so to answer your question, no.

      • This powerbank supports PPS 5-11V 3A and 5-20V 2A. I have the samsung galaxy s21 and it fast charges just fine. It probably won't fast charge the galaxy ultra series because they need more current.

    • I have the romoss 50w. It super charge my s22u super quick

  • Does this charge the Surface Pro 7?

  • I am wondering if you can claim tax back for powerbank, if you use it to charge your work phone

    • Yes.

These work well. I have been taking advantage of the two way fast charging in my car. I have my car fast charge the power bank while it runs my dash cams, works well for a parking mode that is a bit more versatile than some of the camera specific kits.

    • Won't that kill the powerbank fast?

      • +3

Its lasted quite well, no issues so far. Although I have discovered it doesn't like to fast charge when it's cold or hot, I've found a good spot in my car where it can breathe without overheating.

It also doesn't kill the powerbank that fast. It runs passthrough charging so the cameras are running off the socket and the powerbank is charging with the excess power so it's not as bad as using your phone while charging.

    • How long can it power the dash cams for in parking mode?

      • +1

It will depend on your camera, I get about 6-9 hours from a full charge running the 70mai a800s front and rear setup with screen off.

        • Thanks.

  • thanks !

  • Is this the same as xiaomi Powerbank 3 Pro?

    • +3

Seems to be an updated version of that model just with a bit higher output

      • To clarify, the Powerbank 3 Pro can only charge devices at 45W max, whereas this newer model can charge them at 50W.

        • I have Powerbank 3 pro since I think 2018 and its still works great. It is showing its age when I try and charge a small laptop via usb c though, but yeh flawless and build quality is very rugged…

  • Do you need any specific cables to handle 50w charging?

    • Not really

      • Cool, thanks

  • Any other thoughts on this vs the romoss ones?

    • +3

Depends on what you use it for.

Higher output powerbanks are always more expensive per Wh, e.g. the ROMOSS 50W 20,000mah powerbank is pretty much the same price at 55.99 delivered @ Amazon.

In this comparison Xiaomi no question, the ROMOSS powerbank is not built as well and very unreliable in comparison, just peek at the reviews.

Personally I prefer Anker powerbanks as they consistently use 18650 battery cells inside their powerbanks vs pouch-type lithium batteries most other brands inc. Xiaomi use that are more prone to expanding.

      • yeah im currently using an anker one as well. its great but it doesnt have fast charging or type c and the anker ones that do are like double the price. might just cop this then. thanks

    • +1

Ramoss uses rubbish cells. Take a look at reviews, they are nothing near the capacity claimed.

  • I use this to power a switch dock when I go to friend's houses.

  • Ordered, nice tax write off

  • What's the difference between the PB2050SZM (this model) and the PB200SZM

What's the difference between the PB2050SZM (this model) and the PB200SZM

If you scroll down to the Specifications part on this listing, the model is PB200SZM, same as the other one.

      • +1

Thanks I just saw that.. weird how in the first specifications list they call it MPN: PB2050SZM , but further down they call it PB200SZM

        • +2

Yeah that's a bit of a concern. I own a Xiaomi Mi Powerbank 3 Pro and it has the model number of PB200SZM. Supposedly this is a "newer" version capable of 50W charging, whereas the older version could only do 45W.

          https://www.mi.com/global/20000mAh-mi-power-bank-3-pro/

My guess is that the seller accidentally put the wrong model number in the specs.

[edit] some sellers claim that there is an updated version of the Powerbank 3 Pro which supports 50W charging as well. Very confusing, not sure what's what these days.

  • Would it be able to charge my x390 with 4 core 8365U and 16GB, FHD and 4 battery cycle count and 10 month lenovo on-site warranty for only $350?

    Just wondering?

    • Does that charge with USB-C or a round plug connector ?

    • It charges with Type-C so it should work.

      Weird flex but ok

I have a Dell XPS 15 which would require more power. I found this one:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/115424716962

Does anyone know of that brand (Baseus)?

    • Using romoss one for my xps15, charges fine..

      • -1

which one specifically? is it higher than 50w?

        • na the 50w one…it charges fine. not fast but its ok as long as i am not watching video or gaming

    • +2

Baseus is rock solid. Purchase lots of their stuff from banggood. Products are high quality and on similar level to Anker and Xiaomi etc. Their USB cables, AC GAN chargers and car chargers are great. The finish is always high level feels great in your hand type stuff…

        awesome, thank you

  • Anyone has experience with this on the iPhone? Cheers

    • +1

It super charges my iPhone 13

    • +1

This will more than suffice. You only need 20W of fast charging for an iPhone.

      • Will keep a lookout on this model. Ps, given this is 20k mAh, what's its little brother model for 10k or 15k mAh? cheers

edit: I really like the idea of USB C in and outs. When travelling it reduces the amount of cables I need to carry around :D
