Bought it when it was on here last time.
The fridge is awesome, very well thought out, lots of different features.

  • Can I ask for people who own this or did some fridge research, how does this compare to say buying a $1600 whirlpool or hisense etc?

I was looking at fridges recently, and whilst I can't comment about their cooling capability, something about this model just stood out. The layout felt right. Good use of space and all that.

Check them out in person and get a feel for them and imagine how you'd use everyday things with them.

    • Short answer - its better
whether its worth the extra money -thats up for you to decide

        sounds like placebo effect

        • no no no, my comment is true! no explanation required!

        Long answer:
        - build quality is higher
        - better insulation means higher efficiency and less wasted space
        - drawer design means less loss of cold air when opening
        - …and thus, uses less energy
        - vegies seem to last forever in the crisper
        - ice drawer will change your life
        - layout makes more sense when you adjust from a "regular" fridge
        - longer warranty
        - made in Japan
        - silent
        - childs play to pull apart for cleaning

Ive been looking at fridges recently as we need a bigger family fridge. Its a shitload of money for a fridge but 1 thing to keep in mind is they have 5 year warranty when pretty much all other brands are 2, so you could prob justify twice the price with twice the warranty.

The other thing is they review really well, every other fridge I have looked at seem to have frequent complaints on something.

    • When we moved I needed to get a fridge and looking at the more popular brands. Then came across Mitsubishi through product reviews. At first for basic fridge they appear to be more expensive than most. However, they do come with longer warranty than others (maybe 5 or 10 years can't be sure) and a much higher energy star rating.
Also when I checked product reviews this is the only fridge brand that had the least (minor ones were addressed). Gave me confidence that I was buying a quality product.

the layout design is awesome.. you don't lose space where it being cut in the middle vs other fridges.
the only ones that are being cut is only the fridge & ice cubes.

internal trays can be taken out and are washable. many features that are practical and not gimmicky.

    • We have similar size/model Hitachi and the main reason is this fridge is slimmer compared to the 1600 ones with similar capacity.
Yes it is taller and deeper so it may ot work for you space.

I bought this fridge because Mitsubishi customer support is great. Keep in mind appliances online will price match up to 7 days AFTER delivery.

Also, CALL THEM FOR A CHEAPER PRICE. I called to match the silver's price with the white model, and the rep actually gave it to me even cheaper than the white. You can directly contact reps, not sure what ozb policy is on posting phone numbers though so dm me.

what price did you end up getting

      • +1

Back then the fridges were ~3750 for white and ~3800 for silver and I got the silver down to around ~3700. Their prices are based on some algorithm so it'll change from day to day hence no point comparing to the past

This fridge is top of my list to replace a Samsung that died under warranty.
However, with the height at just over 1,800mm, it won't fit in our space. Most fridges of this overall size/capacity are just under 1,800mm, so make sure you have the space before pulling the trigger.

I'm looking at a F&P instead, but still contemplating remodelling the cupboard space above so that the Mitsubishi will fit :-)

Just my two cents. We have got a F&P Quad door. Bought at Harvey Norman Factory outlet as a seconds for ~$2k (retail @$3k). Top compartment starts over-freezing two weeks after we started using it. F&P technician came to check it out twice and determined the model sold to us was a D grade product (which they said should only be sold at auction!!). Getting this returned under warranty now and getting a Mitsubishi / Hitachi instead. Might as well spend a bit more at the beginning to have a peace of mind. Plus the fridge is one thing we all use (passively) everyday so I think it's worth spending a bit extra.

      • Thanks for your two cents. Appreciate the insight.
I thought I was "spending a bit more" on the F&P :-) especially compared to Hisense etc.

Nice one. Recent upgrade from a Gorenje (which was awful - nothing but trouble).

  • If only I waited a few more weeks… :(

After alot of research I just purchased. First available delivery date 2nd September. Can't wait. The thing that put me off originally was no ice dispenser. But after removing my ice maker to replace a broken part, I was freaked out by the amount of crap (dirt and mould) around the container and the tubing. I also like the front of the fridge has toughened glass

    • Hey. We have our eyes on this fridge too. Did AOL advise the delivery date of 2nd September? They told us mid-late July - not sure if it'd risk any further delays at all?

  • When I purchased. It came up with the first available free delivery date with a calendar. They did mention an earlier date but I think that cost a fee - unsure but could have been delivery cost. I wasn't in a hurry so chose the first date available. I'm guessing there would have been a few people ordering and the dates have been moved further unfortunately.
    Hope this helps

  • purchased 30th june and delivered 7th july. AO delivery guys were great, measured all doorways to make sure it would fit through.
