  • Could anyone confirm if the 'Motorbar' head that comes with the v10 has an anti-tangle feature? https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-cyclone-v10-absolute-plus-202…
It looks different from the 'Motorbar™ Cleaner head' that the V11 has.

    • +1

My understanding is that all 2022 models have the detangling feature. The one listed here is not 2022 model though

      • Yeah, but if you see the 'In the box', it doesn't have the 'Motorbar™ Cleaner head' that has the detangling feature.

      • ahh. so this is not 2022 model?

    • Not sure if its same but on the v10 link from the post it says "Direct Drive cleaner head" with same description as "Motorbar" from your link.

    • +1

For the layman, what's the difference in what you are discussing?

      • +5

Anti tangle vanes at the back of the motorised brush pulls hair off before it tangles around the brush. Must have, apparently, for long haired households.

    • Get the V8 for $450 if you want the anti tangle thing. Seems much better value.

      • +1

It seems like the V8 and a decent corded vacuum for monthly deep cleaning of carpets is the best way to go.
Edit: Only problem is the V8 doesn't have the fluffy head.

        • That is true, forgot about that. Not many entry level ones have that anymore.

      • +3

I would pay the extra for the V10 as you can always buy accessories afterwards.
        https://moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/dyson-v8-vs-…

The Dyson V10 has a higher max suction (145 AW vs. 115 AW), a longer run time (60 minutes vs. 40 minutes), and a more powerful brushroll (Torque Drive vs. Direct Drive).

        • +1

Brushroll means nothing with new upgrade. Longer runtime is with lower suction. But the difference in cost is >$270.

        • +1

V10 has smaller battery than the v8, interesting.

    • From the pictures, it doesn't look like this "Motorbar" head is the anti-tangle one.
If I'm not wrong, anti-tangle one has the red thing on the inner surface of the head.
Neither the one discounted at $799 on Dyson's website has got it.

  • Anyone can comment about the battery? Can it hold to work over 40 square meters without the need of recharge?

  • +2

i got one of these a few weeks ago, i can do the house twice with it before a charge (3 bed room)
with going between the boost and standard, i have the soft head for wood/tile floor that requires no boost and is hardly a drain on the battery at all
i boost to give the 5 big rigs i have a deeper clean

if i dont do the rugs on boost i could prob get another 1-2 house-wide cleans on it. if you have carpet and ur boosting 100% you could prob get the house done once

    • did you get the one with Motorbar?

      • ummm im not really sure man, i believe i got the package advertised in this post all i was looking for was the soft head for wood & tile

  • +2

I'm still using my V6 and just buying a new $30 battery every 3 years :|

    • where did you buy the battery? any links pls?

      • +1

Amazon with next day delivery. I suggest an extra $10 for this one for the 4000mAh version.

    • I can't tell if mine is losing suction due to battery life (still the original) or if the machine itself is old.

      • The vacuum turning on and off intermittently is usually the first sign of an ageing battery

  • +1

Might be a nice upgrade from my DC35.

  • +1

Surely it would be the same 2022 model (anti tangle) that's currently listed on sale for $799 on the Dyson website?
Anyways I sent them message with the link to this ebay model and queried if the two are the same.
Will reply here if get answer

    • +2

I've sent the query via eBay asking the same thing, I'll reply here if they answer first.

      • +1

Response, it's the old model for those wondering.

Yep got the exact same message this morning also.

  • +7

Just purchased the V10 direct from Dyson for $699. Called them and said I'm a current Dyson owner (I have an old V6 registered with Dyson) but didn't get the $100 off code. Lady put me on hold for 5 minutes then came back and offered me $100 off the $799 website price to match the code discount.

Worth calling them direct if you are in their system with a previous model.

    • Good tip

    • I Just did this, thanks! For those reading you will need to order with them over the phone so you wont be able to use afterpay or Paypal etc. they do use zippay over the phone if you have that or bank deposit (they send you the bank details).

    • I tried, but no luck. I have an old v6 and v10. Looking for another v10. Anyone willing to share their $100 coupon code (if not using)?

  • This does not seem to be the 2022 model. The accessories, bin capacity and weight match the older model.

    https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-cyclone-v10-absolute-plus-202…

    • I can see that the bin capacity matches the older model, but the included accessories differ. The older comes with an extension hose, but the eBay listing doesn't show it is included.

  • This one or the Samsung Jet 90 model? Bought the Dyson V7 version from the sale few days ago to find out not battery only last about 10 mins on boost.Normal mode doesn't have enough suction for high piled carpets.

    • +2

Think you'll want to look for corded vacuums if thats your use case. None of these handhelds will have enough power for you.

      • I kind of swaying towards the same but have seen some good reviews on the V10 version on high pile carpets .

        • These handhelds are supposed to be for spot cleaning. Yes they'll only do like 10 minutes on max, but the idea is that its handy enough to just whip out, clean a bit, then put back in to charge.

    • not sure the v7 was a good choice. it appears to be just like a v6 (in terms of suction), but with longer battery life. i have the v6. it does the job, but often have to resort to boost mode, and, yes, it doesnt last long if you hit boost much. i actually have two v6s, use one with a fluffy head, the other on carpet. my sister has the v8, which is lot quieter, and seems to have close to as much suction on normal mode as the v6 has on boost, but i was to upgrade, i would get the v10 at a minimum - from the reviews, it seems that the biggest improvement (suction, run time etc) was the introduction of the v10. tempted by this deal, but not yet cheap enough to warrant retiring the v6s.

  • +1

doubt this is the new model with the motorbar cleaner head (with anti-tangle)
Dyson eBay has listed MPN/SKU: 363389-01 which is the older model with direct drive cleaner head at RRP $1,119

The new 2022 model is called v10 RRP$999
Thanks to dmgmelba for the post explaining the new naming.

  • Is v10 worths the extra $250 upgrade than v8?

  • +1

Ordered mine over the phone, as an existing customer they applied the $100 off $499 and brought down to $699.

  • +1

It looks like Dyson have cleaned up their website and fixed all the mistakes. The V10 Cyclone Absolute+ that was selling for $799 with the new Motorhead and fluffy roller is now being sold with the old Direct drive head (as it should).

    • +1

yeah noticed it this morning. they took it off yesterday and fixed it all. Glad I purchased it earlier this week.

      • Yeah me too. Lucky!

      • Did you purchase the model with SKU 393945-01 which was going for $799 directly from Dyson? I’m waiting to receive mine. Did you receive the Motorbar head with it?

          • @SydOzber: Is there any difference between the Motorbar vs Motorbar Cleaner head?

Here is the pic of what’s included in the box for the V10 (live on their website now) vs the V10 we purchased (taken down from their website)

            • @DrKB108: motorbar has the anti tangle feature while the motorbar cleaner head doesn't

              • @SydOzber: So the more expensive v10 (currently live on the Dyson website) comes with the Motorbar Cleaner head (not just Motorbar) Which means it doesn’t contain the anti tangle feature?

            • +1

@DrKB108: So not to muddy the waters any more than it has been, the Motorbar you've linked is actually the direct drive head that's been mislabelled on the website by the look of it. It is currently being sold as part of the $799 Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute+ deal. This is the older model.

The Motorbar Cleaner head is the new anti-tangle motorhead which has the red veins at the back which stop hair tangling in the roller (which are insanely good and I highly recommend it - it's a life changer if you have dogs or long haired people in your house). It is only included on the $999 Dyson V10 as of now.

In a freak manner of timing, you were able to snag the $799 Dyson V10 Cyclone Absolute+ bundle with the new Motorbar cleaner head but with the old mini motorised tool. This has been fixed and is no longer available as a bundle.

So now the the more expensive V10 ($999) comes with the new Motorbar head which has the anti-tangle feature. The Motorbar is the new accessory that replaces the Direct Drive head.

Confusing, I know. Hope this helps.

        • Also, it was that same SKU 393945-01

  • Missed this deal my Dyson V6 finally gave up after 7 years use with battery changed 3 years ago
