Everytime I go there I forget to scan my flybuys card. Bunnings never reminds you to scan it. I need to remember to scan it .

I was there yesterday (Oakleigh), and they asked me, didn't even know they were doing Flybys.

Granted I haven't been there for at least 6 month plus.

        Very hit n miss

Sometimes you get a proper good worker

  • Dupe

    • +3

Not a dupe if the original deal posted is more than 6 months ago

      • Dupe reminder

        what about "not a deal"?

flybuys have active advertising on tv for this, as well as signage in store + store reps asking "do you have flybuys"?

Im waiting for the "deal" to remind us that 1 point/$ spent at Coles, then the next one 1 point/$ spent at Coles express and and and..

        • flybuys have active advertising on tv for this, as well as signage in store + store reps asking "do you have flybuys"

I don't watch TV, never saw any signage, and as per the comments above, the store reps don't always ask you

I probably should add that if you bought a lot of Coles Mastercard gift cards to go back and claim your FlyBuy points at the store you purchased them from for the points as well. You have 7 days to claim.
Basically you get $1,156 points for 5 x $250 gift cards which represents a bonus 0.5% for you.

    • Shoot I didn’t get those bonus pts cos I always thought you can’t get Flybuys/Everyday Rewards points if purchasing gift cards or equivalent

      • If you have the receipt then go back today and claim it. It is not often that you spend $1000+ at a store.

i always scan my trade cash card first to see if there is a trade discount at Bunnings on the item if they say no then i tell them to cancel it and redo it by scanning the flybuy card instead so at least i get some points.

    • You can't scan both the trade card and Flybuys?

      • +2

        Nope. Double dipping not allowed.

    • Just scan in the app and you know straight away if it isn't reduced.

  • How do the rules on reposting the same deal work? Is it 6 months between for long-lasting deals like this one? Also, lots of the deals are posted ahead of time, in some cases months https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/697758. I would think that some people would forget about it by then. Is there an option to remind yourself when the deal becomes active?

    • Yes. You click on reminder above and it sends an email.

    • The short answer is:

      • Long Running deals can be re-posted once every 6 months.

      • Deals can only be posted only 90 days ahead of time. The system prevents the deal poster from entering a starting date that is more than 90 days later.

      • The Reminder link below each deal lets you remind yourself via notifications & email as well as the option to export the event to your Google Cal or iCalendar

      • thank you both

Can you redeem points/dollars at these retailers yet?

    • No idea about Officeworks but Bunnings you can't, you can only buy the gift cards on the Flybuy website. Mine said they'd be delivered in 4 weeks but I got them after 2 weeks. They don't do email gift cards which is a shame.

      • I think they were referring to the use 10 option at the register.

        • Either or.. asked when the relaunched and was told "coming soon" haven't followed up.
Would be easier than buying gift cards from target to spend at office works.
Can never get flypay to work either.

          • @randomusername2017: Are you using your original flybuy card? When I put flybuy dollars on my card I have to use my physical flybuy card.

            • @Tyrannosaurus Rex: Use both the app or card/pin at target or Kmart registers. Online Coles/target/Kmart work fine after converting to dollars.
Flypay never works, always defaults to backup payment

              • @randomusername2017: Ah, didn't know you could use the dollars online at Target, Coles & Kmart, thought you could just use points for $10 or $20 off at Target. I'll have to check that out.

  • I've been getting random FB points back from bunnings lately.

Like spend $185 and get 162 points. No giftcards used / paid for etc.

  • NOTE: You do not collect points if you use PowerPass.
Albeit, you will usually save much more with PowerPass, but not all items are discounted.
E.g. Makita combo I purchased yesterday wasn't, so I cancelled transaction and added FlyBuys.

  • Just remember they may not give you flybuys points on special orders (even though they specifically said they have started doing this in a promo email).

Also, no FB points on exchange vouchers / store credits.

Nah, this is not a deal.

  • Move it to the forums

    • Agree. I don't see it as a deal. Perhaps a helpful reminder to some. I think it would be better off in forums.

  • That was the most important project for flybuys in 2021, they spent quite a lot money on media coverage. John must be pretty disappointed when he knows there are still some people didn’t know this.
