You can add "ss" before the required video link and it will take you to do download website.

    For e.g. www.youtubeabc.com will be www.ssyoutubeabc.com

You can also use Internet Downlaod Manager.

    • Cannot get the ss trick working, its blocked.
      Any other options?

You can use install internet download manager then. Can I ask if "ss" trick is blocked by your organization or internet provider or some other reasons? For me, it's working currently.

@bluespider: I wouldn't recommend downloading YouTube videos via any method on your work computer.

    • Any freeware recommendations? The Internet Download Manager is like $36….

      • jdownloader2

        • thanks. Will check this out.

  • There used to be many online free providers before YT cracked down on it for ripping audio and video.

But if you google Rip Youtube Audio or Rip Youtube video, there should be a new one popping up.

There used to be a trick via VLC as well but it doesn't seem to be as successful anymore.

Haven't tried IDM for close to 10 years.

You're on your workplace's/company's WIFI, right? They're of course gonna block illegal websites/websites which are going to distract you from working. Download the videos through your mobile data or at home.

Apps, not pages, but, I use the free "4K Video Downloader" quite a bit, you can do 30 vids per day, but only 10 vids from a playlist with the free one..
    https://www.4kdownload.com/products/videodownloader/12

If I'm downloading playlists I tend to use Videoproc Converter which is often listed here on OzB for free…

    If you scroll down this page a download link will appear at the top of the page for the Videoproc free licence;
    https://www.videoproc.com/solution/gopro-video-software.htm

    • You can create your own temporary playlist with 10 vids just to download and delete it later.

I always just go with youtube-dl for downloading vids. If you've got some command line chops (very easy to set up on Mac/Linux, a little more of a pain to set up on Windows Powershell but can still be done) then I recommend just setting that up with whatever the latest version of Python is and doing it that way. Much easier to work with once you've set it up, and it only ever hits the youtube.com domain during the download so you don't have to worry about dodgy sites or being blocked.

  • I use this one: https://downvideo.quora-wiki.com/tiktok-video-downloader#url…

But the down side is that the video and audio have to be downloaded separately. I use VLC to simultaneously play the files later. Good luck!

Not a website but I used jdownloader2 as a download manager. Scraps youtube videos.

    Thanks guys for wonderful options.

  • If you know what a "command line" is, then yt-dlp is a great tool.

  • I've always used Get Video without any issues - https://getvideo.at/en/

  • Looks like none of these links work anymore.
Only link which actually starts the download is https://getvideo.at/en/faq/how-to-download-youtube-video but it always get terminated at 0byte
