Subwassertang Aquarium Moss $3.99 + $3 Postage ($0 SYD C&C/ $12 Express) @ Sydney Aquascapes

Moss is a great addition to any tank: It removes nutrients and waste from the water column which helps with algae and keeping the tank clean. It is a great addition to hardscape such as drift wood or other decorations as well. It can be attached in may ways, from thread to glue but we prefer to "jam it" into cracks and let it grow out around the decoration and attach itself off its own accord.

It also is a great addition to any shrimp tank, providing plenty of surface area for shrimp to graze on.

Also note we usually send a bit more than what is shown on our website. Depending on the aquarium size we would usually recommend getting a few clumps to really cover it, but there is no reason not to just grab one if that is all you would like.

It's pure Dandenong Ranges moss grown locally and randomly by purely organic and ethically vegan methods of not actually doing anything.

  • Whats a good beginner plant for a goldfish?

Prefer Little maintenance, dont want for my aquarium to go green in few weeks..

Aquarium gets little sunlight during the day as well if that helps..

    Regards

    • "Going green" isn't really caused by live plants but by an imbalance in minerals in your water. This is usually helped by adding plants which can use those minerals themselves, although in any tank, you will eventually get some algae you will need to scrape off the walls.

Theoretically, if you keep your tank completely sterile you could delay algae growth as well, but this is not healthy for the fish nor is really a long-term solution. The second something which can eat whatever minerals are building up gets introduced into the tank (Through plants, dust, food, or water) it will cause an explosion of that thing. The best solution to that is to have a healthy stable tank ecosystem, which absolutely plants are a very important part off.

Out of the plants we sell any should help, but the best ones are those which take from the water column: Moss and Hornwort. https://sydney-aquascapes.com.au/products/hornwort

  • Will my fish love to eat this? And all be gone in 4hrs?
