It’s just an old game for cheap, right? Wrong! It’s also eligible for the upgrade to the [PS5] Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection which is $15 AU at the PlayStation store. Total outlay is just $23 + Delivery.

Target has both The Lost Legacy and A Thief’s End at $8 + $0 C&C or $9 delivery, also in store, but there’s limited stock around.

    This upgrade seems expensive

    • +2

Yeah kind of but it will be the new norm for Sony’s games. And $23 is less than $38.

    • +2

Nah, this is the discounted/normal price of these kinds of upgrades. Matches the discounted GTA V PS5 upgrade cost (which expired back on 14 June apparently, so now the upgrade will cost way more).

      • Oh. Do you think this upgrade for Legacy of Thieves is likely to go up in cost?

        • Sony haven't mentioned anything about the Legacy of Thieves upgrade offer being time-limited, so most likely it'll stay around.

It won't because honestly, Sony (Naughty Dog in particular) is cheeky on this one. Other first party developers offered at least free patches for the 4K 60 fps support. Naughty Dog opted for the remaster only upgrade path. The remaster does bring fast loading, which is really needed on PS5. Sony did sugarcoat this with allowing either game to get the upgrade and you get both + the movie voucher earlier on.

This "upgrade" is something Sony needed to release, otherwise the PC version will be a lot better that it seems silly that this is an "exclusive" title.

My guess is Sony will eventually add this to a higher tier of PS Plus. Sony cannot do that right now because it will upset people who bought the PS5 remaster version or the upgrade recently (or to be blunt, Sony can still milk PS5 customers not yet purchase the upgrade).

You get BOTH games with single upgrade though.

  • Wait this isn’t on the new ps plus tier ?

    • Yes, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy & Uncharted 4 are on PS+ Extra and Deluxe.

I really should get around to playing all of this series, it's been on my pile of shame for years.

    • +1

I started working my way through the series about a year ago, using them as quick games to play between bigger titles as a kind of palate cleanser. The first one was a bit clunky in gameplay but still lots of fun, second one was really good and I've just started the third a few days ago after wrapping up Horizon. Was a bit of a shock going back graphically after Forbidden West's character models but would still recommend going through them.

      • Thanks, good to know 🙂
Yeah I'm after some pallette cleansers, half way through Ghosts of Tsushima and loving it but see a long road ahead in hours to get through it so have just kind of stopped playing right now

I think the first 2 Uncharted games took me 8-10 hours each on 'Normal' difficulty. Made an effort to turn off the completionist part of my brain so I wasn't hunting for every hidden treasure, just treat them like action movies and have some fun!

          • @McFodder: Yup this is what I need!
            10 hours is perfect

15 bucks each for the upgrade for each game is more expensive than just buying the PS5 pack. lol

I picked up my physical copy for like 30 bucks from memory it came with the remastered version of uncharted 4 and lost legacy

    • +4

Its 15 bucks for 2 games..

    • It is $15 for the upgrade with free dlc

    • +1

Yes, right now, UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection - PS5 ($39) is a compelling alternative. Unless:

      • You want the cheapest option right now.
      • You also have a PS4 or care about the multi-player mode (which is NOT in the PS5 version).
      • You had the digital version of either PS4 games, which makes the $15 upgrade worthwhile.

It's annoying Naughty Dog did not release a free patch, instead released a new remastered version. If you have PS5, you want to get the PS5 version, both games play much better on the PS5 version (the fast loading - good quality of life improvement) and 60fps/4K are worth that $15.

Sony initially eased the pain by throwing in the free movie voucher.

PC version can't come soon enough for me, right?

  • Could someone please let me know are there games from Amazon are in disc form or digital form?

    • +1

PS4 and PS5 games on Amazon are physical discs.

    • +1

If it's PS4/PS5 games, they are always physical games — Sony stopped allowing retailers to sell digital redemption codes a few years back, so they now have a monopoly on digital sales via the PlayStation Store.

  • Thanks OP. I went the Target option and also picked up God of War 3 remastered for $8 as well.

  • +1

Just be aware that Lost Legacy is way shorter then A Thief’s End. The characters also aren’t as interesting or funny. Still an OK buy for $8.

  • There’s 1 left at the moment.
