  • I'm still waiting for a better deal than that price error from Officeworks in December last year 🤣

I regret giving that to another fellow member here, I honestly thought we'd have some better deals with gpus dropping but obviously not.

    • I don't think this do is far off that though *
  • I ordered one of these and am overall happy with it - although heavyer than most machines it does its job nicely.
Tablet mode is a bit wanky - just use it as a regular laptop for 99% of the time

  • Do you need a school email address to purchase this pad?

    • Yup or uni email. Check your old uni email, it might still work.

If not there is a dude who provides the hookup. You'll have to look on the old Lenovo Edu store posts and find him.

  • Can you run 8GB + 16GB or 8GB + 32GB in this laptop if you need more memory? or will performance be bad?

  • Bought an MSI Modern 14 last week for $839, seeing this with a Ryzen 7 gives me a bit of buyer's remorse. Not that the MSI is bad, it's actually really decent.

  • Unless you'll be playing games, is there any reason to get this instead of paying $396 more for the M1 MacBook Air (Apple Education Store)?

Forget the price it really depends if you want to use MacOS or windows. That's your decision made

      • This Laptop PC also allows me to run another operating system, such as Linux natively, in addition to Windows. If someone is comfortable being just in the Mac environment, they can go for the M1.

What is better? This ideapad or the recent thinkpad 14"? Purpose school work and the usual light gaming.

  • my kid's school limits the equipment to two shitty overpriced and underperforming models…clueless

  • +1

Got this exact model and spec for my kid for school this year, and been very happy with it so far.

  • What's the difference between this and the ThinkPad E14 deal that was posted a couple days ago? They seem to have identical specs, screen, etc.

    Edit: Differences include
    - This has Ryzen 7, ThinkPad has Ryzen 5
    - Arguably more importantly, the ThinkPad is OOS

    • +1

The ThinkPad has the ThinkPad keyboard with the red nub and what a lot of people will say is one of the best laptop keyboards
