These games are awesome. But they’re geniuses for getting everyone to constantly advertise them for free
I think it's more so that these keys are relatively useful and also on a short expiry, so it's easy to miss them rather than them being designed to advertise the game
@InsertCrow: Sorry, but I think you’re missing the point - Gearbox/2K create a free bonus for viral marketing, which gets people running-around putting their game to the top of the page again. They can do this unlimited times.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm brutally hung over, but I cant seem to figure out what to do after I've linked steam and entered the key.

Once you've added the code at the Shift page, go into the game, click the pause menu and then use the social/mail menu to get the reward in-game.
