Trying to decide on the best premium audio interface for your impending sure-hit bargain podcast?
While you search, check out this $99 24-Bit/192 kHz USB 2.0 audio/MIDI interface with four Midas mic preamps.
Amazon's "before" price was $204.47 and a quick search shows everyone else is selling it for at least $239.

Are there better interfaces? Arguably yes. But arguing won't get sound into your computer or any closer to a $100m Spotify deal.
According to most reviews, this thing punches well above it's price tag (at least while the hot-glue and capacitors hold up), and face it, it won't be the hardware holding you back.

Julian Krause's YouTube review (audio performance tested and compared)
"For the money, the UMC404HD delivers more features and audio performance than you would expect it to. If you're on a tight budget and you need four microphone inputs, the UMC404HD is a decent option."

Amazing price. I have the UMC204HD, which I paid more then this for and I think it is great for the price.

I have the 204HD and they have a bad noise floor. Cannot use them with higher end headphones.

    • Thanks for this comment - I'll set aside some more cash for a Focusrite :-)

I have both and this would have been way better value. If you want a headphone amp then buy a headphone amp, but if you want a good recording device then this is great value. I definitely would have bought at $99 but it’s sold out.

    • I also had this issue when I used it on my DT990 and HD700. It could be the monitoring output that’s noisy. I couldn’t stand the noise and returned it

Wow, what a price. I paid more than this for the UMC202HD last year! Works great for the price!

    Excellent find OP!

Upvote just for the description. Good work OP.

  • showing as $227.93 for me, lightning deal maybe?

  • Showing $227.93 for me

    • That's the price from Amazon UK.

      Amazon AU sold out.

  • Damn, hesitated and price went from $99 to $227

    • I'm beginning to suspect most of these cheap Amazon deals are used items. i.e. A few people buy them, open them, use them once, decide they don't want them, so return for refund. Someone on here sees the cheaper price, posts the deal, the 3x they had at that price sell out, and so up goes the price.

ya, never know, but as long as its coverd by amazon, i am ok with it.

I've bought "used stuff" before from Amazon and it's been great.

Upon receiving my order, I've attentively examined the product box and the components inside and cannot see any evidence of tampering.
The box seal, whilst plain tape, doesn't show any sign of reapplication. The USB and power cable are too neatly folded and twist-tied to have been unravelled then ravelled. The unit itself is pristine.
Certainly much better condition than Sony eBay store 'manufacturer refurbished' products I've bought.

        • That's good. Gee you received that fast.

    Great deal! What's this thing?

then it is probably something you dont need.

owns the 204 and 202, love them.

  • Great price. Missed out. Hopefully some other interface deals this upcoming Prime Day.

  • Damn missed it. Bargain

  • shit i missed it i really need a new interface.

  • Missed but don't need another audio interface. Interesting it has a single phantom power switch on the rear - not ideal but usually no harm in just leaving it on all the time anyway.

damnnnn i missed it but i didn't miss this great post written by the OP
