Good machine. Easy to use and makes great cafe level coffees. Beans are very important. It doesn't like beans that are old.

My beans are getting older by the day

    • It doesn't like beans that are old.

      Nobody likes them.

  • Every time I'm tempted to upgrade my Breville dual boiler to the Oracle touch, I hesitate…
Is it that much of an upgrade?

Do you enjoy the process of making coffee? It's only an upgrade if you want to be hands off and have the machine do the work.

I bought the Oracle thinking it would be the best of both worlds kind of thing but my barista partner says the wand is weird to use so we only use it on auto now.

Better off spending the difference on a decent grinder like a eureka

      • I second that!

      • Niche Zero white is back in stock!

I grabbed myself a black and the August delivery 😭

      No, less control.

I purchased this Oracle from BDB last year and have given the Oracle to my parents. The only benefit is to save benchtop space, otherwise worse in every way

I went from Oracle to the lowly Barista Express. I’m making much better coffees with the BBE than the Oracle. It’s handy, being able to press a couple of buttons and twiddle your thumbs, but I never got a good coffee out of it.

    • Is it that much of an upgrade?

      I consider this a downgrade.
You going to lose an advantage of external grinder.

  • Great machine, got it from GG for $1200 bnew.

    • When was it? It was such a good price.

    • that's a steal! i bought it at approx $1500 4 ms ago from DJ as well and I thought that's a good price already given most of the imported staff are so expensive those days.

Bought this exact one when TGG had it for $1,399. No regrets. Excellent machine even at this price.

It's a great machine. Although the plastic collars in the group head tend to wear but very cheap and easy to replace. I've been using 18g and 21g baskets (from when I had an Expobar) and it's putting out great coffee. The steam wand is a bit iffy. I use it in manual. If using auto steam you have to use way too much milk to get a decent microfoam. I switched from prosumer to the Oracle as sick of the expensive servicing and repairs and more convenient at the office.

  • I'm in my 9th year of owning my oracle. That puts me at over 10,000 cups of coffee. So far, I've had to replace the hot water boiler pump, and clean out the steam solenoid. Pretty good as long as you keep cleaning it properly. My group head seal is still the original, no problems with it. I use VST baskets with the standard and bottomless portafilter.
