ShopBack.com.au not paying out cash backs

Every time I have used Shopback.com.au it has been a fight to be paid the relevant cash back. In fact I've only ever been paid twice. My last experience was for $30. They twist and turn to avoid payment. My daughter recently purchased Aust Post car Insurance with a $100 cash back. She didn't see that either. I'd be interested to hear others experiences.

As with any cashback company, the missing claim process assumes you done messed up, didn't empty cart, had vpn on, had ad blocker on, changed website when buying, definitely used promo codes not approved, their app is flawfless, cookie tracking perfect esp when there is a 2-hour promo etc.

Just accept it is our fault. Save the pain.

It’s all Ok… there is a steam roller of Shopback complaints at the moment, so just hold on. This just means there will be a useless $3 voucher incoming that will help people “forget” about them not tracking, not paying, leaking your data, etc.

You will know it’s here because it will be front paged with 300+ upvotes.

OP's issue is not tracking legit purchases. To be fairly speaking, it can be the reason on either side. There is another issue now. I requested a cashout 3 weeks ago and it is still pending/processing, with no detail changed. I stopped making cookie-tracking based purchases.

      • Hey, for some reason I thought we had spoken over DMs previously.
Apparently I was wrong, could you kindly send me a DM with your ShopBack Account Email so I can check on our end if there's a holdup with your payout?

        Thanks!

      • pending/processing

The status doesn't really update until much later, but the actual cashout does appear in the bank or PayPal account within 7 days.

        • You are right. Thats why I have not made a formal complaint. I wait till it turns confirmed but no money received actually.

      This. Exactly this.

Oh, and like clockwork… here is comes

There is dissent in the ranks… Quick, fire a $5 voucher their way…

Happens every time. Don’t get your $30 cash back tracked? It’s ok, here have this worthless $3 voucher. Sorry to say, but my personal data is worth a shade more than $3.

  • Hey mate, how to ensure that you 100% get cashback everytime.

Once you have confirmed what you want to buy and from what website.

Open an incognito tab and purchase through there, no Ad blocker problems etc… < if that was what the issues were becaue they were not getting your cashback / shopback clicks / activity.

pretty much what I do, I have Firefox purely for shop back purchases and haven't had any problems

      • I rarely have issues with SB. Over the last 5 years of regular use I had to reach them 2 or 3 times. For me its all right.

    • That's what I did

Hi @PKM, could you kindly send me a DM here on OzB with your ShopBack Account Email so I can take a look into this for you?
I'd be more than happy to take a look into this for you.

    Cheers!

I have found shopbacks browser tracking is absolute ass, to the point where its not worth even trying. Their app is more reliable.

I just use my mobile via the app. I don't even try to do it on my computer. I'm REALLY good about closing everything ever, tabs included, opening shopback app, going through it.
I've made 500+ purchases via shopback.
I've only ever had 1 rejected, which was BoozeBud. I'll never order from them again.
(Yes, I notified of missing cashback, was rejected)

    • I hear what you're saying but I don't consider my phone a very secure device and prefer my PC for anything financial.

  • I use the ShopBack browser extension. It has a green or red icon to tell if it's active and it has reliably tracked purchases. No complaints. My procedure is a) disable ad blocker, enable ShopBack extension, do purchase, b) after purchase disable ShopBack extension (as I don't know what it tracks) and turn ad blocker back on.

    • Thanks

Update …. I'm embarrassed to say after double checking, my daughters claim was with Cashrewards and not Shopback. I can also report that Shopback sorted out my $30 claim. They took the time to explain to me how delicate the crediting process is. It seems the app is the most reliable method and the browser plugin second. Anything else is with fingers crossed, so don't be surprised if it all goes wrong. I apologize for misleading everyone.

Shopback has never been the same quality compared to cashrewards in my experience. Cashrewards will track 100% all the time, and if something hasn’t paid and you enquire they’ll investigate absolutely straight away and get back to you on it urgently. SB - forget it, by the time they get back to you, you would’ve forgotten about it and that’s their tactic.

Bringing this thread up almost six months after the conversation has ended? You sound like you work for CR.

While I can't fault CR's excellent customer feedback, it definitely does not track 100% all the time. I've been putting in quite a few manual claims lately even though it tracked fine the last time I had shopped there using the exact same method i.e. CR app on 5G.

well at this rate I'd like to actually volunteer to be PR person for CR, but thanks for blatantly assuming who I work for you sure do assume wildly :)

  • I use shopback every now and then, both on their website and through their app. Only ever had one time where my purchase wasn't tracked - I contacted them and they resolved the issue in my favour without any hassle.
