120
EOFY30

First deal post so please be nice.

Similar to this one

At my home gym (Bondi) it ends up being $21.70/week for 12 Months or $20.30/week for 18 months.

Not sure if these apply to all gyms or if pricing is different, as well as not sure about state to state.

Was thinking gym contracts are a thing of the past. Surprised they're still running with it.
Not to mention the number of spam calls when you do finally cut them off.

But yeah after their aggressive sales tactics these guys are firmly in the do not deal with pile of gyms.

    • give them a fake number and problem solved lol

      • What happens if you get shot outside the gym, who they gonna call with that fake number

        GHOST BUSTERS!

        • +2

Why would they call you if you got shot?? You'd know if you got shot

It's a shame their regular prices havent

  • I'm on 33$ a fortnight.. Crazy those new prices

    • -1

Same, I’m on $17.95/wk with Anytime Fitness

      • I’m still on a $17.05/week platinum FF membership

      • the 33 a fortnight is with Fitness First Platinum.
For existing members they dropped the fees by 30% and haven't increased them back..

      • +1

I was on $17.95 a week with goodlife- in the end ditched them and made my own home gym. Broke even a little after 12 months but have everything I want, no lines, can work out whenever, always clean etc

  • home pricing depends on the gym it seems

  • Just comparing the prices to other gyms and realised that Goodlife are the same company…

    • And Jetts, and Zap 🤯

      • +1

Local Jetts here in Sydney closed down in 2021. As their parting gift they charged all customers, including those who ended their contracts back in 2020, for several weeks of service.
Nothing I could do to contact Jetts.

Contacted Fitness First who advised Jetts is one of their Franchise businesses, so nothings they could do. FA responsibility but they take a cut of the profits. Screw these businesses

Did get my money back via my bank.

    • I'm paying under $10/week for Goodlife, easy money spent. If they jacked it to these prices I'd be cancelling and getting fat

      • How'd you get a member at that price there.
        I'm keen to know

    Broooo 18 month contract ooof

  • -4

At my home gym (Bondi) it ends up being $21.70/week

I'd rather put that towards my Netflix and Kayo….

  • +2

My local platinum club ends up being $19.07/week as it includes one month free ($1502.20 over 18 months). Not terrible if you use the classes, gym equipment, pool and sauna.

  • is this only for few gyms in the list?

  • Fitness First offered me the same 30% off “deal” earlier this year, with joining fee waived. So this can’t possibly be an EOFY special.

However, I know people who have obtained the membership at 40% off near EOFY. That would meet my definition of a bargain.

    • They have sales targets they need to meet each month. It’s usually good to try a few different locations as some managers are more desperate to meet their targets and offer better than other branches will do.

  • $21.70/week for 12 Months or $20.30/week for 18 months.

this is still unbelievably expensive no wonder these guys have closed so many gyms, they were always a huge rip off and refused to change when the low cost 24/7 gyms started to take over.

although i have never been to fitness first do they all have pools and full deck out gyms if they do then maybe you could justify the price of membership
