  • My Little Pony on Switch is $49 at BigW (part of the toysale) and price matched by Amazon at the moment.

    • unfortunately i cant price match that one cause it would be under cost and still got to pay Amazon fees ($8.09), I dont think Big W is free delivery though (I maybe wrong)

      • Free with BigW Ebay store or from Amazon (what i did just yesterday).
Not knocking your sale, just letting anyone else know that title at least is cheaper elsewhere.

        • Just fact checked myself and its not available direct from Amazon anymore. So ignore my last :)

        • +11

Yeah all good dude this is a bargain site :) - im just not prepared to loose money because amazon has no stock of this title at the moment. I loose money on a few titles to get a boost and stay in front of Amazon , but its a cut throat industry here - little business combating big business (david vs goliath) just i know how Amazon metrics work and how brutal they can be.

  • Thought triangle on was ps5…😅

    • +1

there is a triangle on PS5 and a square, X and circle.

Plenty of fake "friends of OzBargain" sellers on here but Adrian (aka Mr Swapware) is the real deal.

I've literally lost count of how many Switch games I've purchased from him over the years and, as a collector, I appreciate the care he puts into ensuring the items arrive in the same condition as he shipped them. I'm not sure how that plays-out when it's Amazon (masters of the thin bubble mailer) do the fulfilment, however. Possibly better off buying directly from Swapware and foregoing the ease of the Amazon checkout.

My 2.2 cents worth (incl GST)

  • +1

Some of those prices are bit on the higher side compared to what is available on eBay

    Double Dragon IV $85.
    Castlevania collection $85
    Double dragon Neon $95
Sam & Max Save the World $95
Doom: The Classics Collection - $93
Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars Day One Edition $78

Even though you're a small business your resale amount you have listed it at is still close to double of the price of the LRG new if you preordered.

Also Triangle Strategy has been as low as $34 and $40 before.

Sorry mate I don't see this as much of a bargain however I won't neg this so called "promo".

    • Even though you're a small business your resale amount you have listed it at is still close to double of the price of the LRG new if you preordered.

Using Double Dragon Neon as an example (checking my own LRG preorders list):

      Preorder price USD29.99
      Shipping USD17.00
      Total = USD46.99

Credit card billed AUD63.01 based on the (then) exchange rate of 0.7458
      Credit card int'l txn fees = $1.89
      Total = $64.90

Swapware is more expensive (not sure about you "double of the price") but your money hasn't been tied-up with LRG since May 2021 and you get instant gratification.

      Apples vs Apples for product
Apples vs Oranges for value proposition

      • I have been buying from LRG games for many years and buy in bulk with my friends to share shipping costs. So in Swapwares case his shipping isn't much of an issue if he bulk buys and may even get further discounts as a reseller/dealer.

The games end up being around the $AU50-60 mark each when i pre ordered them. I have a spreadsheet tracker of all my games with its cost and have all the above games from LRG advertised so this isn't some made up number randomly. And I said close to double I didn't say it was exactly double

In addition most people who get these games will not even play them and keep it as a collection so the wait times aren't a problem.

I dont have Credit card int'l txn fees on my one so if you do then you might need a better Credit card for international purchases.

Here's something for you to thinnk about, what if I buy a stack of LRG games and resell it on OzBargains as a deal with an ABN. Is it not the same as above?

At the end of the day my point still stands that it's more expensive than what is available on eBay and don't consider this a bargain/deal. Last I recall this OZbargain not OZscalp&sell.

        • I have been buying from LRG games for many years

Same. Between Vita and Switch, I'm close to USD50K deep with them now.

I have a spreadsheet tracker of all my games with its cost and have all the above games from LRG advertised so this isn't some made up number randomly.

Nor were mine as shared above. I also track every game purchase and cost in a spreadsheet.

And I said close to double I didn't say it was exactly double

+45% isn't even close to double. That's what piqued my attention.

Is it not the same as above?

If you were operating as a business and paying for business overheads, managing business risk (et al) then I think you'd be doing the same thing. If you can bring titles like this to the Australian market at a more competitive price and offer good customer service as well then I'd be happy to buy from you. Please let us all know when you're up and running.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Sorry I meant double what you were able to pre order brand new from LRG.

In regards to your last comment about running a business and paying for overheads etc. That really isn't my problem I hate to say. I log onto this website to find a bargain. Not pity someone cannot be more competitive with another store and decide to pay more for something I can get elsewhere cheap. My comment about doing the same thing in buying and reselling, It was rhetorical and I wouldn't bother as I can make more money elsewhere. If you're a good businessman you should plan ahead and work out ways to save on costs and be more competitive.
But I don't see it in this instance and more trying to be greedy and get max amount because the market is inflated from scalping. I also sell games used on ebay and market place and there isn't really much overheads besides postage and sellers fees which you can get at discounted rates under a business account.

Regardless the main point is that this is a bargain site and none of the above warrant a bargain imo. When you can get it cheaper elsewhere.
And reselling an item they got on pre order to sell for more isn't really post worthy and considered scalping and reselling. His other prices are also expensive to begin with at even at a "discounted price" its not even that competitive.

            • @SpeedRunnerLink: OK. I'm out.

            • @SpeedRunnerLink: Just letting you know , I dont preorder these games dude, i hardly ever deal with retailers. These are in fact 'After Market' releases, after market titles are always more expensive because Limited Run Games onsell unsold stock onto American distributors these distributors put a retail price on those items many after market purchases are around 47$ USD mark (Limited Run - Super Rare Games etc..). Plus you have to consider Australia has what they call GST (10%) , Shipping FedEx from the US about 4 USD, Customs Duty and Fees $88 AUD per shipment - add those up and call me a scalper. Then look at Amazon US and UK prices. Look at eBays average price ($95), Look at Amazon fees ($9-10) then consider what my margin is..

If you can get limited run games for $49 AUD (double my price) Id love to know how you get those games at those prices. Do you pay by Credit Card or Paypal (??), and you get free shipping lol..

              • Anyway the feature deal is on Monark ($89.95 Retail) and Triangle Strategy ($79.95 Retail or 49.99GBP Retail for the Factory Sealed Version) I only added the LRG because comparision prices on Amazon AU were much higher than my prices. Also i never said they were the cheapest prices of all time (who cares what they used to be worth or you preordered and waited 10+ months to get it) - its what they are worth now that matters. Can you get Triangle Strategy cheaper than $62 now - No , can you get Monark Deluxe Edition cheaper than $48 now - (maybe if you walk into ebgames and are very lucky to get a sealed copy for $1 cheaper) but buying online - No.

And if you understand how Amazon's pricing metrics formula works, it is possible to get a cheaper price than cost on Amazon AU but for that to happen some other seller (or retailer) has to cut their price first. Think about Today (not Yesterday) cheers

              • +1

@Swapware: Look at my original comment. My main point is that your prices are more than others on eBay.

All this think about today and tomorrow comment is pointless when your deal isn't the lowest price available TODAY

I'm still sticking with this isn't a bargain.

This isn't the first time your deals posted have been questioned on pricing and if it really is a bargain.

                • @SpeedRunnerLink: Not every post in Gaming on ozbargain is considered a bargain nor is it the lowest price ever. A bargain does not mean it has to be a certain amount discount, does a bargain have to be 60-80% off Retail Prices - Any Price reduction off the recommended retail price is considered a bargain for some people (not all but some).

Some people dont like buying off eBay because they have to wait longer than on Amazon PRIME which is the reason Amazon has private contractors to make sure deliveries arrive on schedule guaranteed. You buy from eBay, Big W , Target, Harvey Norman are they express delivery - No. is Triangle Strategy or Monark the cheapest prices on the 'Australian' market today (excluding ebgames pickup local - noting also the current petrol prices are over $2/ltr atm for a big $1 saving) - Yes. Also like many - hate dealing with EBGames online these days because in many cases when you order more than 1 game they charge you shipping for each game sent and you cant combine shipping anymore through them (unless they come from the same shop). You combine purchases through me you get an extra $5 off (thats out of my own pocket) as every item still costs me $2.50 to ship through Amazons warehouse.

Your right to say there are cheaper prices elsewhere (Senran Kagura) thats true if you want to order from 'australian-games' on eBay which is not in fact located in 'Australia' but from the United Kingdom and are sent Royal Mail which is the cheapest and they send most of the item in a paper carton. Or even mighty ape 'aka Kogan.com' which are in New Zealand. I choose Amazon over eBay because of the convenience of the free expedited shipping for $2.50 extra on top of the fees, they do everything processing, packing.. delivering while eBay charge higher fees (even after the $2.50 warehouse charge) and does not a competitive pricing formula, plus is full of 'real' scalpers.

Anyway you have your opinion , I have mine .. I prefer Amazon because of the convenience they do everything for $2.50 each (standard switch game). You mention the word 'scalping' to some people that maybe sounds 'offensive', In the 27 years i have done Video Game 'Software' not once have i ever 'scalped' a customer, doesnt matter if the game is worth $150-300 on eBay. I always go based on the 'Retail Price' when it comes to games that are out of print or discontinued. The only time i ever sell over the retail price is to either cover fees, or if i need to replace the game in my collection (whether its importing another version that is more expensive etc..)

You have people that want bargains next to nothing (under wholesale cost and a loss on the seller or 'loss leading' by Big companies (expecting you to buy other stuff they make more money on) and you have people that any decent saving is a win in there book on the 'day' not 'yesterday or weeks ago' (btw that Triangle Strategy special - i remember it was a CLEARANCE price on the site that started it - then catch price matched it and flow on effect continued through competitive pricing metrics, which Amazon are part of) plus the price lasted less than 6 hours before it was out of stock almost everywhere - Nintendo did not offer a discounted price to any suppliers , it was still the same wholesale rate as it was when it was released ($55 ex GST). Just my 5 cents to add to my other message..cheers

Really tempted to pick up Monark at that price.

But the reviews I've seen are so mixed.

    • That was the one I was considering also, played the demo a few months back and it seemed to tick some of my JRPG boxes, but the price was a little much at RRP.

My only issue is that we have things like Live-A-Live, Soul Hackers 2 and the Persona ports coming pretty soon.. not sure if I want to sink my teeth into another hefty one 😛

      • My thoughts exactly.

Plus there were some recent big releases like Aegis Rim that I've still yet to play.

So its maybe not worth picking up something subpar.

        Thanks. Is this not ozbargain?

$62 is nowhere near good value.

        • +1

          agreed 100% - $62 is no bargain.

it's just semantics on the definition of "benchmark" really. in this context benchmark to me means "a good bargain price" rather than "best price ever", and I'd say for a new and highly rated game like triangle strategy the "benchmark" is closer to around $45-50.

          • @coldazure: It doesn't have to be the lowest ever price ever - but it is the cheapest price you can get it today (not yesterday), and as a PRIME seller you have to follow what they call 'Amazon' metrics, otherwise these big companies will rip a small business to shreds.

            • +1

@Swapware: appreciate that you have to do business, but just because it's the cheapest price today doesn't make it a good bargain price.

of course, if someone out there simply cannot wait to play a game then this is probably their best option.

  • I appreciate the post. It's better than someone mentioning new games going onto a rental service or the like. Some decent looking prices on there.

    • Thanks for that i do my best to be reasonable on our pricing - plus how has it been since i got the moderators to bring in the 'Physical Media (Video Game)' tag in December, - i use it a lot - does other people ?
