Creative Sound BlasterX G6 7.1 HD Gaming DAC USB Sound Card $161.10 Delivered + Surcharge @ Computer Alliance

140
CA10

Just bought this USB dac from Computer Alliance this morning. It seems like a great price at $161 delivered. I paid $162.71 with the credit card surcharge.

The lowest I remember seeing this dac has been was $179-180 delivered.

Check out the specs here:

https://au.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blasterx-g6

It can accept up to 600 ohm headphones. Also works on the Playstation 4/5 and will allow you to chat mix which is the reason I bought one. It also has scout mode and dolby digital.

Use code CA10 at checkout to bring it down by 10% and get free shipping.

Note: Credit card surcharge is 1%. I paid with Amex to get extra 1 years manufacturers warranty so it was worth paying the fee for that peace of mind.

Unsure of expiry of the deal so if anyone knows please update the deal.

Nothing will beat my Creative Sound Blaster Pro II.

      • Sound blaster pro was crazy good in its day - really an audio game changer for PCs at the time.

      • Did they use ISA bus back then?

    • It may help for high powered headphones. But this usb dac is ideal for console gaming since console audio isn't necessarily the best. Using it on the PS4/PS5 allows you to use the chat mixing feature. Without the dac you just plug it into the controller which may not be the best. I don't own a gaming PC so can't comment on that.

By all measures, this is an exceptional gaming Dac/Amp if you've got the equipment to take advantage of it. Only bad thing is that it was released in 2019 - Micro USB port. I can't see any negatives for the price otherwise, even the new X4 and others aren't as audiophile as this. Perhaps new version coming soon?

    • They have the GC7 but many people complain that it is a downgrade due to the lower power of it. I really hope they don't bring one out soon as this dac could drop further in price 😟

        lol dammit.

I almost pulled the trigger yesterday when it was $179. Thank god I held off.

I got mine in late 2019 for a similar price, with those old 20% off eBay deals and relied on the seller forgetting to price jack. The software is a little jank, but the hardware is solid.

Yea, Nice. Want to get some new headphone and these should drive some HD600s
Might need to pick these up, seems to be one of the cheaper amps

I use Sound Blaster Extigy as standalone amplifier (optical in, headphone out) & it sounds awesome
