  • Is this show actually funny? I've only ever caught a few eps on CH9 and it just seems to be the same sexual innuendo jokes over and over, the sort of stuff I might have found funny in primary school.

Maybe I need a new TV?

I think the fact it is seasons 1-4 indicates that it is popular…. unpopular stuff get canned swiftly.
Whether you find it funny or not depends on you…. not the show

      • True I suppose, didn't think of it from that perspective. Maybe this is why they're still making Two and a Half Men as well, some must find it either entertaining or amusing in some way.

Oh and I give the deal a + as well, good price for 4 seasons of a show.

      • popularity and level of humour are not proportional to each other. I found the first season and half of the second season funny, after that it was plain ol' drama with no true nerd humour at all.
Oh well, IT crowd reruns FTW

        • Agree. The few couple of seasons were fine but got a bit soap opera after that. I remember at first they were digging at Apple corp now I see they have a imac in their room and no jokes about apple genius guru either. nerdy stuff slowly disappeared and became more mainstream nerdy for the masses.

    • I was skeptical about the show when I first saw it. I'm like that with most comedy shows (e.g. How I Met Your Mother, The Inbetweeners) but this one I enjoy watching. The best seasons are the first few when Sheldon isn't a complete dingbat with what he says. And there is some nerdy bits even though I don't understand them all.

i just love the geeky references :D but its a show where you have to get to know the characters from the start, or you might find them just weird.

Agree, you need to have seen this from Season 1 Episode 1 to really appreciate all the in-jokes, running gags and nuances, which turn it from a good show into a great show. Personally I LOVE this show and happily repeat watch and still laugh out loud. I never liked Friends much but I find this show really clever and fun and really well casted.

      • i think the more geeky you are, the more you enjoy it, that's how they setup the humor mostly, that and the sexual innuendo/double entendre jokes, e.g like the 'floppy disc' bit! just finished 5th season, and it was extended to 7 seasons, it has to be popular for enough people to last this long!

  • Region 2 (obviously).

A number of places advertise it as region free…..

    • Will region 2 work on dvd players here? I assume it will work fine on pc's tho right?

Possibly the most attrocious televsion show masquerading as a "comedy" I've ever seen.

Agreed. A poor mans IT Crowd.

The main geek character is atrociously annoying. His appearance was the only disappointing thing about the new Muppet Movie.

      Good deal though ;)

      • Guess everyones different, I bought IT Crowd, never got past two episodes. Maybe I'll give it another try, or maybe not LOL.
