Hi, I know there are long waits for passports now, and they are quoting 6-8 weeks but I applied for renewal of my kids passports in mid March and it is now almost 4 months
Has anyone else experienced this long a delay??
Should I be joining the 8 hour queue at the passport office??

Paid for priority at the Post Office, cost another $200 ($500 total) but I got it in 4 days
Same here. I maybe one of the unlucky and miss the holiday season at the end of year.
I was at the post office yesterday with a family in front of me lodging their passport applications for trip in Jan 2023. They were advised to pay extra for priority in order to receive passports within a week.
Submitted 2 children passport application at post code 3130 postoffice on 9 May. received phone call on 11 May to mention 1 child's photo is not very clear(took their photo at home then print at officeworks, cost 0.3 dollars). passport office send another child's passport out on 12 May (4 year old, first passport),Not Urgent applications
