Trek 100 Men's & Women's down Jacket $59 + Delivery ($0 C&C / $150 Spend) @ Decathlon

170

Previously posted deal for $75, now further reduced to $59 from a RRP of $149. Comments on that post mention that it is highly regarded and that it's fill power of 800 CUIN exceeds the 600 fp of the OzB beloved Macpac Halo (though it's more similar in style to the Macpac Uber which has 650fp). Keep in mind sizes run small so if you're normally an S you should go with M, etc.

I've been following this jacket for the past month and black is finally in stock again for most sizes, though no C&C available for the Men's M in Sydney.

  • thanks op

  • The size guide https://decathlon.com.au/pages/size-guide gives dimensions for both EU & US sizes.
When you select your size on the product page, is that in EU or US??

    • The size selection is in EU sizes.

If you check the size guide of a similar jacket in the same range e.g. this one it mentions:

All our sizes for Men's Tops are in EU.

This page says "we are currently offering free shipping on orders over $100. This offer is not valid for bulky orders.," where bulky is 7kg+ or 1m+ in length.

But I get charged $14.25 for 2 of these jackets.
Doesn't seem like they would exceed the bulky description.

    • Yeah they've annoyingly jacked up the minimum order for free shipping. Used to be $100, now it's $150.

I ended up adding a bunch of stuff to reach $150. They offer free refunds in-store so I may return 1-2 things I didn't really want.

I have this, quite a bit thinner and lighter than Macpac Halo (would say less warm, but the weight and bulk make this my go-to hiking/outdoors puff), bought size S in this but wear XS for macpac.

Bought two, one for me and one for a family member.
Not as warm as the Aldi one, but less bulk and weight.
Similar to Macpac Uber, but lesser overall quality. stiffer zipper etc.
Good value at this price, full price is somewhat of a joke IMO when there are many better alternatives.

What's the difference between this and the down jackets Aldi is selling this Saturday? https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-9-j…

    • I'd say the Aldi one is more similar to the Macpac Halo in that it looks more puffy.

May mean it could feel warmer but my personal preference is something less bulky/Michelin man-esque lol.

Also the Decathlon one has a regular collar while the Aldi has a hybrid hood that's packed into the collar. I haven't seen it in person but sounds like it makes the collar thick?

Also these jacket have less fill compared to what was reviewed. ~63g vs 88g for L at least.

  • Thanks OP I'll give this a go. Only really wearing it to the office lol
