These shavers seem pretty popular so thought I would give it a go for $45.

According to previous deal comments, be careful if using down stairs. A few people have been caught out.

    Explain "caught out"?

    • +31

I've been caught out using it to shave my nut sack and crack.

      • +7

Plot twist the shaver was your flatmates. Who uses it to shave their facial hair.

        • +41

Haha, one time my housemate borrowed my shaver and goes in for like 20 mins of brrr brrr and comes out with a beard unchanged. Never used it again!

      • +1

Maybe you are trying to get too close. It's definitely the best I've used…but I only have a katana to compare it to.

      • +1

Does it nick your nuts or it safe for such usage? I don't wanna be tearing my tackle to bits

        • I wouldn't use this for your nuts. Use a razor for them but this will do all areas around nicely

        • It has a skin attachment that will prevent nicks, that you'll have to pay extra for.

    • +4

      Only One Kenobi

    • It's been caught off

    • ’borrowed' other's shaver to shave down south?

  • +11

The OneBlade Pro Face is on special for $75 as well.

  • +60

No worries for me OP, the bathroom where i shave is located in the upstairs of our house.

    • Just be careful. The doorbell rings, you’re the only one home, and you’re almost finished. Why not multitask and finish up as you’re on your way to the front door? Big mistake

      • +1

        Big mistake

        Or is it?

    • -2

Lol @ someone actually downvoting you, some people have no sense of humour lol

      • +1

negged you just for the lols

        • +2

          +ed you for the lulz

  • +31

Why would anyone shave walking down stairs?

    • +3

Challenge accepted. Going to handstand it down the stairs while shaving the downstairs.

    • +1

That was my first thought also.

  • +3

    Photos?
    Asking for a friend.

  • +1

if i have an elevator, can use this shaver safely?

    • Only if there is an elevator attendant present.

  • Can you use this to make a lightning bolt? (carefully)

  • Can we reuse?

    • +7

No. This is a disposable razor. That’s why they call it the OneBlade. Don’t try to engage it on a second occasion, or you’ll be sorry

    • +3

Yes, up to 4 months if shaving a couple of times per week (based on reviews/YT videos etc).

  • +2

    ill stick to the lawnmower

    • Whipper snipper would do at a pinch I say.

  • +2

I’ve only ever used a cartridge razor before and just recently purchased one of these. It’s pretty good, not a fully smooth shave like a cartridge razor will give you and I did manage to get a bit of a rash the first time.
I found this works best dry even though you can use wet, still have to clean up all the shaving later if you do over the sink.

    • +1

This is why I shave in the shower with it. Shaving dry flings beard all over the room.

Might just be me since I only shave about twice a week and let it grow a bit.

  • A guy i know used it down stairs and it went flat, maybe that is why don't use it down stairs.

    • +3

      Please clarify, what went flat?

      • -1

His “battery” went flat, if you catch my drift. No matter how many times he tried to “recharge” his “battery”, it just didn’t work as well as before. He lost his mojo down stairs, you see

  • +1

Great machine. Gives a visibly clean shave, but not smooth like a proper razor.

  • Thanks OP! Needed a new shaver, my old one is running on fumes.

    • That's sure to make your face smell weird.

  • +2

be careful if using down stairs. A few people have been caught out.

phew… thankfully I only shave in the upstairs bathroom….

    • How do you shave at work?

      • -1

        Second floor bathroom ofcourse.

  • +2

I'll be getting an electric shaver on Prime Day, unless anyone recommends against waiting. Sometimes sale days like Boxing Day aren't the best prices.

  • +1

How many replacement blades does it come with? 2 replacement blades cost $35 alone

    • Crazy. Even the knockoffs are $10 a piece

  • +2

Thanks. Bought one with 6% cashback from Cashrewards.

    • F'n Cashrewards didn't track my purchase, even though I clicked through the app, added to cart and paid.
App shows my 'click history' on Amazon for the time, but no purchase? What could have happened there?

  • +1

This is a very good price.
I had setup a camel alert but it never came through. Thanks OP

  • +1

How often does one need to change the blades on this device if used fairly regularly?

    • +3

4 months if twice a week used.

  • +2

make sure this is the updated lithium one, when i last checked amazon was selling outdated model while shavershop had the new one

    • Are they differentiated by the silver vs grey on the handle?

      • I just looked at the Product Code the shavershop is QP2530/20 and this one is QP2520/30

  • +3

What’s the difference between this and the pro face? Genuine question

    • +3

Longer battery, lighter, faster charging, light up screen, adjustable head.

I seem to remember being able to use the pro while charging as well… but I could be wrong.

  • +4

Use the click on skin guard when shaving downstairs. There is another chinese listing for $20, but the reviews there say that the skin guard to too flimsy.

    • +1

The guards are very flimsy. I thought it would break just by fixing it to the shaver.

  • For anyone who owns this or the Face + Body: is splashing for the Face & Body at ~$170 better or worse than the basic + add-on skin guard for total ~$77? Any meaningful difference in day to day use (other than battery life)?

  • Toss up between this basic one or the +Face model.

Primarily be used for most body hair (cycling and in warmer months, swimming). Maybe the occasional stubble trim.

  • Are Philips grooming products any good these. Their quality have gone down the drain the last 5-10 years and don't seem to be improving. Any one has a different opinion?

  • $35 for me

    • how

      • -3

just add it into my cart, then check out $35.

  • +2

Took me over 40 years to find the perfect face shaver for my needs and this was it. Have been using for a couple of years now, highly recommended.

  • Why can’t they make these USB charge (preferably USB-C). I never understand why shavers are proprietary plugs. Can anyone point me in the direction of a shaver (happy for a trimmer style) with USB charger?

    • You and I are on the same boat, the only reputable brand that makers usb c shavers are xiaomi mijia I believe. Not too sure about their shaver quality though.

  • +6

I use the Schick stylist (https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/1073815194…) which is pretty much the same thing. It goes on special at woolworths every now and then for 50% off for $25. The last time I went to get new blades and it was on special so just bought a new one it was cheaper just to buy the new a whole new unit.

These work great, usb chargeable and waterproof. Works well with shaving cream. Mainly use it for my chest and stomach. Close cut with no ingrowns is a win for me

  • Can you use this to make a stubble?

    • +1

      yep, pretty simple
      shave… wait a day or 2
      done.

  • is it better to get this or the pro one for $75?

    • Ni-MH vs Li-On battery is basically what it comes down to.
8hr charge, 45 mins run time vs 1hr charge, 90 mins run time.

      • If you need 90 minutes to shave your crack, sack and back you've got too much hair.
