  • Came to $122.99 after a mysterious $10 discount was added at checkout. Not complaining!

    • Were you using the phone App? There's a $10 discount if you purchase with that (maybe only the first time).

if people intend to use it for slow cooking, or yoghurt, I recommend people get the glass lid. You can buy them from the Corelle store at the DFO.

    • currently 17.95 on Amazon

      • Hopefully postage included and if you are willing to wait.

    • Do you need the glass lid for yoghurt?
Anyone have any experience making yoghurt in the 7-1 ??

      • We use the glass lid and we make it “pot in pot” this allows us to store the Yoghurt, directly, into the fridge.

      • Don’t think need glass lid. I just chuck on regular dinner plate on top of it.

    • Wonder if I can find somewhere to buy this cheap online

  • can an owner check if it is 220v or 120-220v? thanks

      220-240V on label
edit: to be fair, mine gourmet version… same same but different :)

    • thanks for the quick reply to both

  • This or wait for a Ninja Foodie on sale? Heard their new 14 - 1 is a banged device

  • Has anyone used the version which includes airfryer ("Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer")?
    https://www.amazon.com.au/instant-pot-duo-crisp/s?k=instant+…

Does the airfryer function work well or is it a gimmick?

    • Would also like to know. Seems like that version could be a true "all in one" cooking device.

    • I've owned one of the Duo Crisp for over a year now. The air fryer lid works but due to needing to use the air fryer rack (supplied) for smaller items (battered fish, chips etc) it does reduce down the volume for effectiveness. If you are just browning a chicken you've pressure cooked or slow cooked, it would be fine too.
The AF lid is BULKY. It doesn't sit on the IP easily out of the way when using the other lid either.
It has a lot of accessories…
That said, I wouldn't use any other option for an AF these days.

Bit of a review - got the 5.7l Instant Pot 12 months ago (about $160 decent deal by memory). Worked well, easy to use. Great for stews and things that have a bit of liquid involved. Anything too dry, like heavy, chunky meals, chilli con carne etc doesn't really work without becoming a bit sloppy or you tend to burn on the bottom of the pot (it tells you). But really good to use the pressure cooking which cuts down time for anything you would normally need to cook for hours, done in hardly no time. Also steams really well, rice works pretty well too.

Anyway was using one time and it turned off mid-cook, probably a short in the cable or the cooker itself. Contacted Amazon, brilliant customer service, forwarded me Aus Post postage stickers to send the original one back for free, and sent me out a brand new replacement in less than a week. Have been using ever since and it hasn't missed a trick.

There's plenty of different recipes online (Youtube, TikTok, Insta) and ways to use it. There's also a rabbit hole of accessories and different bits and pieces seemingly made for the 5.7l version that you can get too. I'd say it's worth a go for sure

  • As someone who doesnt cook much, is there any reason to go with this over a crockpot which seems to do the same (ie has a pressure cook function) and is typically significantly cheaper?

I have a cheaper pressure cooker, it works pretty well, but definitely preferred my instant pot (no longer have it)

One of the best things about this is the stainless steel inner pot. Much better for searing meats.

Plus all the recipes online. My favourite thing to cook is risotto, so easy.

If you're going to do any slow cooking, buy the glass lid.

    • The risotto was the eye opener for me. So sick of standing over the saucepan adding one ladle at a time. This makes it so much easier and the taste isn't a whole lot different

    • Why glass lid?

      • You can use the instant pot lid but it is made to seal really well. You need some variation for slow cooking many dishes. That said, you could possibly have another lid that fits another pot in your collection that will work too.

  • where are some places for good instant pot recipes?

    • There’s an instant pot app that has stacks of recipes

      • What's the exact name of it?

      • +2

        https://instantpot.com.au/app/

Although Google Instant Pot and just about anything and you will find a recipe. This is like a Thermomix it is has a cult following.

  • perfect timing - thanks OP

  • Would it be worth to wait for an upsized cashback from Cashrewards or Shopback on or before Prime day considering this deal ends in 5 days i.e. 12th July or are there chances of Amazon increasing the price / getting sold out before the Prime day?

    • i'm guessing amazon has close to unlimited stock of instant pots, especially with prime day coming up.

      • lol

        Temporarily out of stock.
We are working hard to be back in stock as soon as possible.

Just an FYI the smart cookers generally operate at 8 psi for low pressure and 12 psi for high pressure, the metal ones you buy for the stove generally operate at 12 psi for cheaper ones and 15 psi for more expensive ones. That said I would trade the convenience of "set and forget" and "keep warm" for the higher pressure, I don't know what I was thinking when I get the stove top one.

Edit: Just to give you an idea of how this might effect cook times there's some handy tables here: https://www.hippressurecooking.com/pressure-cooker-psi-faq-t…

  • Somebody posted a cheesecake recipe on another instapot post. For the life of me I can't find on Google. Doesn't anyone have and can share?

Unaure if it better or worse, Costco Ringwood have Instant pot Duo Gourmet 9 in 1 for $139.99.

Saw about 96 units left on pallet.

    • Two more 'in ones', for $7 more
      Sounds like a bargain

I am asking if this is a good deal on the crisp version?

  • Anyone knows how long is the $139 Costco deal running for the Gourmet 5.7l with sous vide function? Sounds like the sous vide function is better value for few dollars more.

  • 8L on sale now, thinking of getting the air fryer version for $220. Hmmmmm.

  • I don't normally impulse buy stuff… but my ancient slow cooker packed it in and my rice cooker has seen better days too. One appliance to rule them all!

  • Grabbed one, Thanks OP!

  • Ordered the 8L Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer 11-in-1. $20 cash back too :D

    • Will be interested to see what you think.

    • Did your cashback track?

      • Not yet, sometimes it takes a few days to track. If it doesn't track after a few days I will put a ticket in.

  • Got one too. Thanks OP
