EB Games has the Parrot AR Drone listed on their website for $174. Apparently when I visited the Marrickville store, the store person couldn't find the $174 price on their screen.

After a call to the EB Games customer service and convinced the store person to call the csutomer service and bla bla bla, I managed to score that price.
Probably the deal is so new that the stores haven't been informed yet.

It's the best price I've seen anywhere. It even beats the Catch of the Day price $199 + shipping deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71008 . A few users already mentioned this deal on that COTD thread too.

Please also note that AR Drone version 2 is coming. So this is probably just getting rid of the version 1 stock from the store.

update: Sorry.. removed 'free shipping'. Was available online and in-store for a while.

    A link to EB Games at this price was posted inside the COTD deal yesterday.

    Bought one yesterday from EB Games Castle Hill for $174. Turned out to be DOA. Returned it today (in the city), and apparently they'll transfer stock from another store to replace it for me by next week.

    Bought one during the EB Christmas Sale for $199.
    They are fun, but batteries last 15minutes.
    There is a good community out for them and you can upgrade batteries and buy spares, but then things get costly.

    This is a great price and looks like a fun toy. I would get one if the second model wasn't coming out next month. It'll be more expensive but clearly you can see a lot of improvements needed in the current model.

    Beautiful, been waiting for a price drop around $200, already have one but for $174 can't miss a bargain like this as I'll use it for spare parts. I was going to get a 2.0 but I'm quite happy with the 1.0.
