Top up at the service desk at Woolies or Coles and pay with the gift card
With topups at Coles you also earn flybuys points and qualify for the spend xxx for xxx points promos that they have running with flybuys occasionally. So more cashback off on top of that. Unfortunately Woolies stopped letting you earn points for opal topups.
I got 1,200 (=$6) points for a $30 top up at Coles last week.
Sign up for Hiver debit card for 5% off (along with a few other categories like certain utilities) up to $250 per year.
No discounts. It has gone up 3% and you only get half price after 8 paid trips in a week starting Monday.
