  • Dang, one more in the mix to confuse me.

This or the duo, didn’t even know the 4K one was available.

Best to stick with 60fps recording on the road

    • It says in this video it can support recording 60fps and 120fps

Ok so i looked. Its the 1440(2k) that can do 60fps.

        This 4k one,
this dual dash cam captures super clear view at Ultra HD 4K 3840 * 2160 @30fps + 1920 * 1080P @30fps at the same time.

Does not come with hardwire kit.

The 229 has been released and is a better product over all. Having the 129 Duo emmc, I would get prospective buyers to get that once released. If u want one now, get the 2K one.
The 4k looks good on paper but not worth the performance.
60fps is what is needed for good resolution to read the rego.

hello random internet user sn809. Do you know what the difference is between these models?

      A129 Plus Duo - $233
      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08DV51H2X?ref_=pe_2361882_2972…
      A129 Plus Duo (16GB EMMC) - $183
      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09JC76WYD?smid=ANEGB3WVEVKZB

what is this EMMC and why does it make the unit $50 cheaper?

I found this article, I am guessing it is an emergency 16GB memory in case the failure of the external memory card/missing memory card.

        https://viofo.com/blog/a129-plus-built-in-16gb-emmc-storage-…

      • Yes its an onboard 16gb memory in case the sd card is not functioning.
Software and functioning is the same.

      • The non emc one is 179 btw on the link above.

    • A229 seems to only do 30fps for either 2k or 1080p? Ideally you'd rather the 60fps on the A129 Plus….

    • The amazon listing for the 129 pro duo says that the front cam supports 4k 30 and 2k 60 - "Built with 8MP Sony Sensor IMX317, A129 Pro Duo supports real 4K(3840 * 2160)30fps/2K 1440P 60fps front+1080P full HD rear video recording".

      Is this not the case?

The difference in video (other than the addition of 4k 30), seems to be the viewing angle and aperture of the front cam - 130 deg. on the pro, 140 deg on the plus, both having 140 deg on the rear cam.

Do you think the 16gb mmc and the 140 deg. on the front cam is better than the inclusion of 4k?
I wonder if the pro has a different SOC to process the 4k, or if it would be more prone to stutter etc if it is the same SOC?

I seem to recall someone on ozb saying that one of the models had problems with parking mode, but I don't recall which one.
