Meta Quest 256GB Prime Day Offer
Prime members will receive $100 promotional Amazon credit for use on a future Eligible Order and 2 free eligible Meta Quest games when they purchase a 256GB Meta Quest headset sold by Amazon AU. See T&Cs

The two free games being POPULATION: ONE and Onward, both fairly popular and not inexpensive games for the Quest. Thanks @DrDogRespect for pointing those out.

Appears to only be for the 256GB model and not the 128GB like last year, but still pretty decent. Also reminder for $47 Oculus Store referral credit for referrer and referee as long as referred before activating your Quest 2. You can find the Ozbargain automated referral system on the Oculus store page here if you don't know anyone else with a Quest.

  • Meta Quest Pro coming out in September/October. That should result in much lower prices.

    • +6

I thought Pro was going to be a much higher price point & aimed more at "prosumers" and non-gaming applications?

      • That's Meta Quest 3. There is no upgrade to the microprocessor to go that far this year. It will use the same processor.

      • That's the Cambria releasing this year.

    • There is no "Meta Quest Pro", we have a higher end headset called the "cambria" releasing this year and a probable Quest 3 in 2023.

also 2 free games, was gonna post this earlier but got hit by the 2 deals a hour limit :(

  • I have a Quest 1. What if I refer my partner, get this one, activate on her account (we get $47 each), then factory reset Quest 2 and register it on my account, while (maybe) register my Quest 1 to her account to be able to redeem $47 on her account?

    • The credit is for Amazon purchases. Nothing to do with Meta.

    • Your friend must be a new Oculus user; you may not send referral links to yourself; referral credit can only be applied once to an account with a newly activated Quest 2 device; refurbished devices are excluded from the referral programme.

Not sure your plan will work, but if you try, post the results. maybe they have not set it up properly

  • +5

Oh that's a rough deal compared to last year.

    • +1

      Yeah it's pretty weak.

    • +5

      It Zucks…

  • +2

It's a bit meh…didn't really want to fork out for 256gb

    • +2

      Mehhhta 🫤

  • I wanted a deal on the 128gb at the very least similar to the black friday deal. This is Crapola!

  • +1

Unless you specifically want those games skip the deal. 128gb is gigantic, most games are less than a gig.

    • Agree, I'll wait a bit longer / try to find a better deal on GT/MP.

  • +3

The 128GB is not available anymore, the heck…

    • Maybe they're holding stock for a discount?

    • +1

Saw that…I'm guessing they're trying to force sales of the 256GB, which I imagine hasn't sold as well as the 128GB? I admire dingle's optimism but this is Amazon…

    • +1

I didn't think something that wasn't on sale would actually sell out, so was very confused to see that. I almost think people might of confused the $100 back on the 256gb with the 128gb, otherwise surely holding for something.

      • +1

yeah checked Occulu's website too, its not like they are phasing out the 128GB model

or maybe they are. 64gb not available anymore. maybe just clearing stock until next model is out.

+$160 for the extra storage and nothing else sucks tho, its not like VR games need that much storage or we get better performance and I would be using it for PCVR mostly.

  • amazon just cancelled my order for this claiming safety issues….. not sure what issue they are talking about plus the quest is still up for sale atm!

    • What time did you order. I reckon they got too many orders and now trying to say unsafe. Anyone who ordered earlier today cancelled??

      • ordered at 352pm

    • Same here, it's utter bollocks. I'm on chat with support at the moment.

    • Same here, tried to get in with the bonuses and the cashrewards, but had it canceled right after as well..

  • They seem to have pulled the entire listing…

  • Spoke to support who told me that it was cancelled due to external issues and to just reorder. Went to reorder and now the page is missing……

  • +2

Just finished my chat with support, they claimed it was a technical issue and have escalated it, and will send me a notification if/when it is resolved.

    I have my doubts.

  • Can confirm orders from earlier today that haven’t been dispatched haven’t been cancelled! This is seems a lot like they’ve run out of stock.

    • Seems strange the 128GB model would sell out seeing as there's no bonus attached, or discounted from RRP.

      • +1

That and the customer service rep I talked to say it was a technical issue, not that it was out of stock.

Also, we normally see on the item page if it is running low (the "there's X items left" to try rush you into buying it), but there was no such notice when I bought it.

        • Its their standard answer for anything.. technical issue…

      • Perhaps the promo has run out ie only has a certain allocation… and in a panic they’ve pulled the whole item. Because the 128gb isn’t a separate listed item it’s a configuration…

  • As many said, dont sweat too much, you just need 128 gb. Just wait a bit

  • +3

    Both models back in stock.

  • +1

Back in stock and showing no 'gift' option anymore. I guess they didn't want to re-package them

  • Yeah all a bit of BS. Safety issue for long enough to cancel the order then it is in stock with a delivery date of +7 days.

    • i was getting a delivery date of Thursday(tomorrow) yesterday, now Friday

      • my delivery date is for Tuesday 19th :( My 1st order had a delivery date for tomorrow… oh well.

  • +2

So 128gb is all you need, but that is $479.
The 256gb is $639, but with the $100 credit its at $539, so only $60 more than the 128gb model.

Then with the 256gb you get $80ish of games included meaning that its $20 'cheaper' than the 128gb model.

what u think, is this good calculations

    • +1

Yes, if you have a use for the Amazon credit and you were going to buy those games or ones like it (for such price) anyway, it is definitely a better deal.

    • This was my reasoning for getting the current deal. I would have preferred the previous deal of $479 +100 Amazon Credit. I also got the 5m official link cable that is sale for $82. Overpriced tbh! but I thought I would give it a try and if air link ends up being great ill just send it back for a refund and just get a 3rd party link cable for cheaper at a later date.

      • That previous deal sounds way better. The price of these has not changed much in 2 years

    • -$10 with shopback too

  • How do you redeem the 2 free games?

    • Yeah got the email for the xbox code and $100 amazon credit but nothing on the games

    • +1

got the third email for Amazon Benefit (the two games now)
