  • Get this F2.8 zoom lens $2810 delivered. You won't regret it, long after the initial pain you feel in your hip pocket.

    • Hard disagree.

Does the f2.8 offer better image quality sure. But unless you NEED the low light performance or the f2.8 boke the f4 is better. The f4 is smaller & lighter, and better value. While the image quality difference between the two are extremely marginal. Unless you are shooting on a Z7/Z7II/Z9 at full resolution then you can't even tell the difference between the two.

Yes, the Z 24-70 f2.8 has better image quality, but the Z 24-70 f2.8 offers 99.9% of the image quality of the f2.8 for a lot less and is a light ligher.

      • You can say the same about alot of things like cars, audios etc. Is a $150K car 3 times better than a $50K car? If someone wants optimal quality and can afford it, they will buy it.

but the Z 24-70 f2.8 (sic) offers 99.9% of the image quality of the f2.8

I beg to differ, I don't know what camera/lenses you based your opinion on, but I have actually owned and used both Z-mount F2.8 and F4 Z lenses on a Z6 II !
A lot of professional photographers would disagree with you LOL. Otherwise you would see all the event pros running around using F4 lenses :-p
P.S. And most people don't shoot in daylight only, everyday usage would include low light, under shades, indoors etc.

Why take my unqualified words, read for yourself https://www.dxomark.com/nikon-nikkor-z-24-70mm-f-2-8-s-revie… and https://www.dxomark.com/nikon-nikkor-z-24-70mm-f4s-lens-revi… and tell me that the F4 offers 99.9% of the image quality of the F2.8 :-p

When mounted on the high-resolution 45.7MP Nikon Z 7 camera, the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S achieves an overall score of 36. That means it is the best 24-70mm lens we have tested to date. It’s also the fifth-highest-scoring zoom lens in our database. Its sharpness score of 36 is also a significant step up from the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S.

        • Here is one of the most respected & skilled Nikon reviewers comparing the two lenses. The TLDR is the f4 is more then good enough unless you NEED the f2.8 like shooting in low light.

    • Hi - I just got my Z6II and was looking to get the z mount 24-70 f2.8. How did you get it for $2810? Ta

      • It was in the link in my initial post on Prime Day yesterday direct from Amazon AU. Looks like sold out because the current seller is not Amazon AU.
