Found this Samsung refurb tablet on Amazon. Will be a good option for my kids since its relatively well priced and is WiFi only. The description claims "like-new" so would expect the quality to be pretty good and mentions a 180 day supplier warranty.

  There is a design fault where if you hold the tablet from the top or bottom the WIFI completely drops out. Would steer well clear of this POS.

        Thank you, I went and read the reviews and then followed the instructions. My wifi dropped one bar if my hand actually held it in the corner. So I walked away from the access point, to see if my range would be impaired and the signal didn't get any lower.
        There was no complete drop out in anyway, and honestly I don't know how I'd hold it over the corner like that for a continued period of more than 10 seconds as my palm was covering the corner of the screen. mine is the 128gb variant. ymmv

          @FiscalSleuth: If your palm is covering the screen you are either holding it incorrectly or have incredibly flabby hands.

          I think I'll trust the mountains of evidence online over your anecdote.
