      Yeah alkaline for a short drain, should deliver a fair thump, but it will be made of 8 button cells in series inside, so it's not like a AA alkaline that has a lot of alkaline mass to produce current, so maybe the number of units needed would be higher. Okay so messing around with a thought experiment, but these could be real handy for a fun 12V project.

  I bought 20x 23A no name batteries from eBay for $8.40 delivered but they last about a month or so I think in my ZigBee remote. Will try this Panasonic one out. Probably will be cheaper in the long run

      the system is much stronger than we thought. Usually, the cheaper battery just lasts shorter time.

  Used a good brand like this or energiser at around $5 a pop in my fan remote for bedroom, and kept going flat. Bought some cheapies from ebay and they last forever. Go figure.
