Was looking for an air humidifier and thought this was a pretty good price for the Beurer LB88. JB and Harvey Norman are selling the same model for $219.

Both black and white are the same price and plenty of stock at my local when I went today.

This model is also recommended in this month's issue of Choice Magazine.

    We have this. It's good for humidifying - it definitely can put out huge amounts of steam for even a big area. However, cleaning it was disappointing. The black membrane where the water passes through under the tank quickly calcifies and gets limescale - which would be more tolerable if Beurer had a recommended decalcification solution. Instead they just tell you to rinse with water, which doesn't help much at all.

    The other big disappointment is the "fragrance" function. You can't put essential oils or anything else in the water reservoir, so instead you put it on a little sponge behind a vent. The fragrance is almost non existent.

    Finally, the controls have a very bright blue backlight that is quite blinding at night. We gaffa taped a cardboard over the dial so we could just lift it up to access, which did the trick. Still, not good for those who want a dark bedroom.

    I'd say it's best for occasional use where the calcification is going to be slower - since Beurer don't have a preventative or solution for that at all.

      Demineralised or distilled water… You should be using that kind of water with all ultrasonic humidifiers if you don't want pm2.5 particulates flooding your room.

          I don't have steam humidifiers, only ultrasonic.
