Amazon Prime Day Shipping Delays?

Just wanted to see if anyone else is having issues with receiving items bought on Prime Day this year. I bought several items across multiple orders on Tuesday/Wednesday, and not a single item has arrived, all of them delayed with no ETA. Is anybody else experiencing the same issue?

      • Probably by looking at ETA when ordering, if it says ‘Order now and arrive by tomorrow 8pm’ I know it’s coming from the local warehouse. If it’s gonna take a week I know it’s probably coming from over east.

It's pretty simple. Do you have an Auspost/MyPost account registered under the same email address as your Amazon account? If you do, then as soon as Amazon prepares the shipment, it gets added to your MyPost account on the Tracking tab.

If you don't, then you'll need to grab the Auspost tracking number from the Amazon orders page and paste it in to the AP tracking site (or the mobile app).
Scroll to the very bottom of the page and it will show you the sender of the item, in my case I see:

        Sent by
        BWU2

        Service
        Parcel Post

Amazon managed deliveries with their own drivers always have tracking numbers that start with TBAU (for me, coming from the Perth warehouse anyway).

        • Thankyou for the detailed explanation. Just one question, there's no way to track Amazon managed deliveries other than the basic tracking given in their app?

          • @I like deals: No there's not. Once it's picked up from the Amazon depot by the driver, you have no idea how many minutes or hours away it is.

I get a quite a lot of Amazon managed deliveries by Flex drivers and apart from one single delivery, they've all arrived between about 10am-1pm after being picked up around 9am from the depot. A few weeks ago I had one delivery randomly show up at about 8pm.

        • looks like they now have an Adelaide warehouse.

got my dispatch notifications. Courier picked up from Adelaide, AU.

and Delivery By Couriers Please Pty Ltd to WA.

        • Also make sure your name address and phone details match exactly with your Amazon account otherwise it won't auto add to your Auspost account.

I had to enter my address in Amazon again, account set up years ago but the delivery address or phone number formatting must have been slightly different between the two. Other deliveries would auto add but not Amazon.

Also because they weren't an exact match even if I manually added I couldn't see the sender or receiver details or make changes to the delivery.

          • @bamzero: Good to know, my address is pretty straight forward and I haven't changed my number in 15 years so the auspost auto thing has always worked well with Amazon, ebay, shopify etc.

  • I can confirm this is the case, I take a few Amazon Flex shifts a week… They had a massive campaign before prime day to get drivers to take shifts, however come the Friday before the prime week it was impossible to get a shift.
This was also the case up till last Friday when they suddenly upped the rate by 50% then 80% then offered drivers a extra $40 for taking more than one shift.
I managed to clear close to $450 on Friday and the rates have still been spiking all week.
I have a feeling they took a gamble on the number of drivers for the prime days then had to back track but couldn't get people to fill the spots.
This is in SA, it may have been different else where

  • My final package came today :)

  • I have ordered some stuff just after Prime day, ETA is next Friday… and the packages are getting delivered by Aramex…

  • Ordered 2 items one was due on Sunday and next Friday, Both came Sunday morning

  • My remaining unshipped items are Japanese snacks sold by Amazon Commercial Services. Anyone know iif food items are stocked at a specific warehouse/s?

  • Yup, everything I ordered is currently MIA with the courier for a week now.
Amazon order details now telling me they might still arrive, but I can get a refund.

  • All my AU orders arrived, most after a few days, final ones yesterday.
One international order is still listed as pending, only one I really cared for too lol

  • Forgot to mention. Ordered something from Amazon US on Prime Day. It arrived in less than 5 days, pretty incredible.
Then again I heard Amazon have their own planes now.

    • I ordered an item from Amazon UK on the second Prime day. It shipped on the following day but since then hasn't even reached the airport according to AP Global tracking page.

Funnily, international orders from both UK & US took under a week for me at the height of the pandemic slow downs last year. Prior to that it usually took 12-14 days.

      • Yeah honestly not sure how it all works. But on this order I checked the Amazon order tracking for the first time a few days after ordering and it showed as "arrived in NSW" couldn't believe it. I am not on Prime this month either lol.

      • My APG delivery from UK ordered 13/7, shipped 16/7, landed in Perth 20/7, and delivered to me on 22/7.

Still waiting for eastern states Auspost deliveries to arrive.

        • The slowest shipping I experienced came from BWU2, the robo warehouse. Though the delivery was quick because of Amazon Flex.

  • My last two orders all arrived one day earlier than promised. I think that’s pretty incredible.

    • Well most of my orders have a 3 week ETA so even with Auspost standards they should be able to achieve that. Pretty poor for Prime expedited shipping though when they still push it as 2 day domestic shipping.

My biggest issue with it is they used to send via Express Post but these days it's usually Parcel Post.

      • Because they don’t have Flex everywhere AusPost and Amazon have a contract with each other. It basically states that Amazon chooses the shipping speed and has its own shipping options. So if you see standard or express it generally means what ever the selected shipping speed is closest too. So just watch the eta.

        • Yeh, that's my point. When they do use Austpost, Amazon chooses to send Parcel Post now instead of Express Post.

Before we got a warehouse in WA nearly everything came via Express Post from over east and if not in 1 or 2 days was close to it.

Now, if it's not in the local warehouse (which a lot of stuff isn't in WA) it's often no faster than ordering on eBay which is probably cheaper.
Still get the odd order via Express Post now and then but it's the minority.

  • I ordered a Pixel phone sold and fulfilled by Amazon UK (sold via global store ) on the 7th of June. Was supposed to be shipped within 10 days. Hadn't shipped. Hassled Amazon customer support and got a voucher for $10 (yay, i'd rather have my phone). They've increased it to Priority International Shipping but as of today (03/08/22) still has not shipped, in spite of the item still showing as In Stock and showing as In Stock on the day i bought it. Extremely disappointing. Still have no estimated shipping date either.

    • I had the exact same experience with a great deal on an expensive Ergotron monitor arm which was Fulifilled by Amazon UK. Ordered when in stock and even watched in go back in stock and sold out again, and there was no progress on shipping.
Did you get it at a great price? If so, wait it out. In my case it was worth it they will send it, might help to contact support again in 3 to 5 days and ask again how come it hasn't shipped if there isn't any progress. They will likely offer you a refund option, but refuse it and they will say "it will ship it will ship soon" just wait it out.

In my case I got the Ergotron LX arm which cost about $250 locally at the time for around half the price from Amazon UK. Maybe it was a price error I don't know, so they likely wanted to trick me into cancelling the order. But I waited it out and they shipped it.
