Amazon Prime Day Shipping Delays?

Just wanted to see if anyone else is having issues with receiving items bought on Prime Day this year. I bought several items across multiple orders on Tuesday/Wednesday, and not a single item has arrived, all of them delayed with no ETA. Is anybody else experiencing the same issue?

All my aussie orders has arrived day after.

  • +3

    Next day for me

  • +2

Never had issues with orders before, and its previously always been next day as well. No idea what's going on with all these orders. Support have been useless assuring me it will keep arriving by 9pm (it never does).

    • Have they shipped any of it and did you received it? Was it marked as being delivered?
If they have not shipped the goods then there is NO way you are going to get them no mater what the support person says (lies to you if they say it has shipped and the system says it has not).

Support have no way of checking where a parcel has gone once it is shipped. The usual is that it was miss scanned lie and say to wait 2 days even though the parcel has been delivered somewhere once their system says delivered. Support will also say they will ask the courier company and get back, but they never do.

Hassle and you will get a $10 or $20 credit to spend on your next order.

      • Says the following - The promised delivery date was July the 14th though.

        Friday, 15 July

Package arrived at a carrier facility
        Bella Vista, AU
        Wednesday, 13 July
        Carrier picked up the package.

        • are u up Windsor/Richmond way? how's the roads and area after the floods, might be less delivery drivers up that way

        • I ordered an Xbox controller Wed 8am - was delivered from Bella Vista on Friday.

          Friday, 15 July
          2:10 PM Delivered
12:58 PM Out for delivery, Bella Vista, AU
4:42 AM Package arrived at a carrier facility, Bella Vista, AU

          Thursday, 14 July
          Carrier picked up the package.

Got half of my stuff with the rest supposedly coming Monday. I bought a lot of stuff and I got something every day this week following Prime Day. I do get my stuff sent to a PO Box too which normally slows the delivery process. If I choose to ship to my home address I usually get stuff the next day.

  • Ordered 2 things shipped to a relatives house and it arrived today.

  • +1

All my Amazon AU orders arrived next day but they were all sold and shipped by Amazon AU so no third parties involved.

    • If only I lived in a postcode to receive stuff this quick! Even with Prime shipping the quickest time for me to receive an order is 3 days :( But no issues with my prime day orders, got them in 3 days.

  • -1

Yes, But amazon compensated me with a $10 compensation credit so not that upset about it

    • +1

I've had stuff arrive late but never ever received compensation, do you request it?

      • -2

Yes had to complain for it, probably should complain again that two of my orders are showing delivery date of 24 July, when the item page on amazon right now shows expedited delivery arrival by 20 July.
But i thought amazon $10 Credit was decent, may be not IDK

  • +1

Received about half of my stuff by now, however quite a delay on the rest (arriving 25/07 to 1/8), including Amazon devices.
I would've thought they'd have these readily available but then again I ordered them quite late into Prime Day sale.

    • Update: stuff that was supposed to arrive on 25/7 actually got delivered today. The rest will probably come much earlier than ETA. Good stuff Amazon.

  • Some arrived earlier then predicted by amazon, 2 were 1 day late. Back in the day you could complain for late stuff and you would get small good will credits. These days they pretty much reply with too bad so sad.

  • order 15 things from coke, tea, air fryer, lego, wipes, whisky, plastic bags

    on the two days

all but the whisky has arrived, due Monday

  • I normally get next day delivery but when I ordered my ETA from Amazon AU said Sunday and Monday.

  • Yeah, delayed ETAs, but arrived earlier than expected.

  • Noted on an order I placed on Amazon today:

Due to high demand, shipping and delivery times for some items may be longer than usual.

  • Stuff that was sent by Australia Post arrived promptly. Another order is in transit between Sydney and Brisbane and the note on the Aramex site says it will arrive later even later than the late delivery date of Monday.

    • +3

I've found Aramex are pretty pathetic with shipping times at the best of times.

      • +2

… because they used to be Fastway and were bought out by Aramex but clearly didn't want the bad rep to follow them.
Same crap system, same crap drivers.

Couriers Please are still number one crapfest courier company on Earth, followed closely by Aramex. Both do 'fake' delivery attempts… say they attempted delivery but CCTV shows no attempt made at all the whole day.

  • I got 1 package next day. but the rest were quoted on purchase for tomorrow, monday delivery.

  • I've got most of mine now (like 80% of the stuff), just a few small ones to come.

  • I have gotten a few orders free when it's quite a few days past the estimated date. When you click the order it tells you when you can get the refund

  • Everything except for a few things that's coming from UK/US has been delivered in two separate days. 37 total items ordered 5 items remaining coming from overseas.

  • -1

Yeah, I bought four items during Prime Days and only one arrived. The three others (Instant Pot Duo, Zojirushi flask & Quest cookies) were estimated to arrive by 21st of July, so they haven't even shipped yet.

  • • 1 order/2 items received next day. Ordered Tuesday during CR increased CB
    • 1 order/2 items not shipped yet, ordered late Wed. Due 25 July. Not worried, I have Bezos’ number…

  • All mine flooded in within 3 days, was a epic pita as I was on covid shift for those 3 days and got home to my front door being fully blocked off…

Like where do you expect me to take them if my whole door is covered 😂😂😂

  • Delivery on a Sunday despite saying address is closed for delivery :(

All my packages from prime day sales are being delivered today to work. This is despite me configuring the address to not deliver on weekends as we are closed. Second time it has happened and now I will probably cancel my prime account if they can't follow their own system.

I'm wondering if their system doesn't work or the Amazon flex drivers just don't care and want the Sunday work.

    • +2

No it’s definitely the system. I’ve delivered for flex and parcels show up all the time with address listed as closed. The annoying thing is the driver can’t even see that it’s closed until that’s the next parcel to deliver. So quite often I’ve driven to the location and parked only for it to pop up saying closed. Then I mark it as closed from my end as well, and the system still gets it wrong and I have to return the parcel to the depot.

  • Some have arrived, some coming this week. Same old.

  • Yes, delays on everything unfortunately, and I'm in central Sydney, so usually deliveries are next day, any day of the week

  • I bought 5 items across the two days of the Prime sales, two are from a third party seller, the other three from Amazon AU. None have even shipped yet, not even the one with an ETA of 20 July (I'm in Tassie, so no Amazon-managed delivery down here).

  • Delayed. But that is on purpose. Need to fund the orders.

  • Pretty normal in my opinion.
I was on Prime recently and certain items would arrive next day or two. While others took up to a week. All in stock and sold by Amazon AU.
You might think because you paid for Prime that everything will arrive in a day, this is just not the case even if it seems to be quite accurate for US Prime customers.

I have also had months on Prime where nearly every single order arrived next day or two.
It has to do with stock levels, warehouse locations, order cancellations etc it's not magic a lot of stuff mostly logistics is happening behind the scenes.

  • +2

    LoL, first world problems

    • +1

He probably spends 16 hours a day scrolling TikTok whilst complaining Amazon is wasting his time

  • My latest expected shipment was due next Wednesday but showed up 2 days ago 😂
I totally didn’t see that coming.

Did you perhaps purchase from 3rd party seller? Amazon US or UK?

  • Bought some lego and it arrived the next day.

  • Three separate orders received in one box on second day, not next day, but received multiple notifications and aplogies re delay.

  • I had 5 orders that I made on the first day of prime, it all arrived in different days but it was all here by Saturday, even a Saturday delivery as well. They might be inundated by the amount of packages in your area or there might not be enough Amazon couriers around your area to service it?

  • Where do you live op?

  • Most of my items that were delivered via Amazon Flex came within 1-2 days, however few of my orders had been sent via Auspost and Couriers Please, all expecting to be delivered today. Also I was unable to select the option to deliver to any of the Amazon Lockers in my area as they said it was full.

  • Delayed was meant to arrive Friday but now planned by tomorrow

  • Not many issues. Some orders took a few extra days due to demand but have received nearly everything as per normal timeframes

  • Bunch of things arrived the next day or couple of days after, a few things are still waiting to be dispatched. Surprisingly I got a 4 pack of the Ring Stick up cameras and they're not due to arrive until this Thursday.

  • 4 Items purchased all from Oz and expected delivery not until this Friday/Saturday

  • Local warehouse stuff sent and received within a day or two. One from east warehouse sent via Auspost, still waiting. International one sent few days after order, and couple more still not sent at all.

Is it just me or is Prime expedited shipping not like it used to be? I'm in WA, before we had a warehouse here pretty much everything was sent via Express Post and would receive in a couple of days from over east. Nowadays if it's not in WA, takes weeks to receive as they send via regular Parcel Post.

  • Slight delays this year. I ordered 7 items.

Last year was same or next day delivery.

This year was 3-4 days delivery for small stuff.

One item took 6 days (arrived today - ordered 11am last Tuesday) however that was because it was coming from the manufacturer in NSW and delivered via Aus Post rather than Amazon.

  • Not sure whats going on, ordered a pair of earbuds that were both shipped and sold by amazon, but instead of next day delivery like I usually get eta was a week later. I ordered this item last wednesday and eta was this wednesday the 20th. Now the strange thing is, when I checked on Friday 2 days after I bought my item, for the same exact item the eta was on the 18th! 2 days before then what my eta was although I bought mine 2 days earlier! My order has still not been shipped but eta is still on the 20th, don't know what logic is going on here. And fyi I have prime and both shipping options were their expedited delivery!

Edit: Wow, even looking at the same item now, it has next day delivery! Meaning if I ordered it now it would arrive 1 day sooner then when I ordered it almost a whole week ago! Ridiculous!

    • Check the tracking details if it's sent from the manufacturer?

They might have had none left at their local warehouse so instead yours got sent from the distributor/company via slower postage rather than Amazon. Your item might have been sent from there and in the mean time they've got a bigger delivery to their local warehouse.

This is what happened to me.

Ordered a coffee machine which was showing as next day delivery. They must have ran out of local stock at their warehouse in VIC and instead mine came from the manufacturer in NSW delivered via Aus Post so 6 days delivery.

      • My order hasn't even been shipped even though it was ordered 5 days ago. The item is shipped by Amazon not the manufacturer

    • If it's available for next day delivery now it usually means it wasn't available in your local warehouse before but is now. With any luck they'll ship from there instead.

      • +1

Btw I didn't have such luck.. one of my orders just shipped, can see is now available for next day delivery but they still sent via Parcel Post from over east :/

Don't know if can get on live chat to see if they can allocate the order from local stock before it ships but you'd think the system would be smart enough to do this.

I work in an Amazon warehouse in Sydney. It has been an insane week. We have been pulling almost 12 hour shifts the entire last week trying to process the massive volume of packages. We are processing around 20k-25k packages everyday. Unfortunately there will be some delays.

    • +4

      You da real MVP <3

    • how many packages on an average day?

      • Usually it's around 14k with around 12-14% of them being oversized (larger boxes and packages weighing over 5kg). During prime we've had 25% oversized packages which is insane. So many boxes weighing 15-20kg.

    • Keen to see you do an AMA!

  • I have ETAs but all much slower than usual.

  • One thing arrived in 2 days, second item ETA 22nd July.

  • I had eBay plus things arrive sooner than Amazon prime. Auspost express for bulky items always comes first same city, them prime or regular AP same city. But the sales added a delay to all prime deliveries for me.

  • Nope, no delays here.

Friend from WA says Prime deliveries are always slow. Must be a WA thing cos its fine here in NSW.

  • Ordered one thing and apparently it's coming Thursday which is a much longer delay than usual. Doesn't bother me because I didn't need it right away. But I imagine they're getting absolutely hammered with demand as every man, woman and dog seems to be using Amazon now and they're probably experiencing the effects of rising COVID cases like any other business.

  • Everything came a lot earlier than expected. I absolutely love my Instant Pot :-D

  • I'm non-prime. Delivery was estimated as Thursday after Prime Day, but then quickly changed to the following Thursday

  • An international order was in the courier's hands the same day. The latest scan shows it is still in UK.

  • Yeah a little delay on one of the two items but nothing huge, was supposed to be next day delivery but took an extra day.
Other item was alcohol and there's always a bit of a delay on that afaik.

  • Pot luck maybe? Depends which delivery company is most effected by workers off sick with the new wave of covid?

  • Ordered a Kindle coming Sept…
Also bought a Kindle case, came next day..

  • -4

Prime member here, all items been delayed for a week, contacted customer service and they didn't give a sh!t.

    • -2

Dont get so salty. You do know that as soon as the items is in stock, it will be on your door the next day. Clearly you ordered items that had a longer eta.

      • It was supposed to be next day delivery. The ETA was just next day and all items were sold by Amazon AU.

        • Sorry to hear that man. Amazon is good at delivering things on time. I m sure you will be able to score some $$ from customer service after your item arrives as a compensation.

    • You say "Prime member" like you are part of some exclusive elite tier of Amazon shoppers who deserve super-special treatment…

      • I’m the Homelander and I can do whatever the f I want.

    • I also contacted customer service and they gave me $10

  • Nope no delays at my end.

  • I just cannot complain about Amazon's delivery. It is the best thing ever. No delays that I noticed. It never fails to meet my expectation.

    • This would be the 1st time, even during CV19.

  • -2

I ordered 1 item on the 13th and it says delivery 26 th July. WTF, EBay is faster than this. I won’t order anything from Amazon again.

    • Probably won’t take that long. See my comment here.

    • +2

hahaha…. I have NEVER heard a single person say they prefer Ebay over Amazon for delivery! Never, ever.

      • Ordered on 13th July and not even posted yet and it's the 19th already, ebay sellers usually post on the same day or the day after

        • More like they mark it as posted the same day or next, especially the Chinese sellers. When they actually send it is another thing.

  • Delayed on the Pepsi Max boxes….

  • Amazon delivery is the gold standard in my opinion…. they absolutely kill it. I can order 4pm one day, and before lunch the next day have it in my hand (not always, but damn quick).

If there's a bit of a delay they probably got smashed with Prime Day orders.

  • 18/7/22 12:38AM Delay in delivery due to External Factors Mayfield, AU

All items were being 'delivered' on Sunday afternoon.

    • 19/7/22
9:49AM Package Arrived at a carrier facility Mayfield, AU

  • I ordered two items supposed to come on last wed and thu but still not arrived.
Order status says "Your package may be lost. We're very sorry that your delivery is so late. Although it may still arrive, you can request a refund now."
Chatted with CS and got told to get a refund and order again, plus 50 dollar gift card for the trouble caused.
But the new price for both items is now more than 50 dollars of the prime day deals. And I paid originally on gift card bought at discount just for the prime day, so I’m now stuck with amazon and can’t buy from elsewhere. Not to mention I lost the 14% cashback.
I was very satisfied with amazon prime until this time. Not sure what else can be done.

    • They'll likely still turn up

  • My waffle machine went from next day delivery to "well ship it next week".

Other stuff were delayed by a day or two

  • I got 1 item the following day that was in stock at the Perth warehouse, but everything else I ordered is coming from Sydney, and for some reason, about 90% of packages that get sent from Sydney come to me via Parcel Post.

I'm not sure how they can get away with calling it expedited delivery, because it takes 6-7 days minimum to arrive. 99% of stuff that gets sent from Melbourne comes via Express Post.

It's really weird. The ETA for my stuff coming from Sydney is 29th July, but the AusPost tracking shows an ETA sooner than that.

    • How do you track your amazon items and which warehouse they are coming from? For me it only shows the most basic shipping tracking (Shipped, Out for delivery etc…)
